  • Re: What are you reading now?

Just finished Loving Frank, an historical novel about Frank Lloyd Wright, his work and his relationship with Mamam Borthwick.  It's a bit of a slow read and I realize the subject matter is not for everyone, but I was intrigued by their lives, especially how they chose to live their lives.  And in talking with a friend about the book, I

I also like Fisherman's Blues! Fran:As mentioned, I suggest Songs For a Sunday Morning. Only song I dislike is Two Lovely Black Eyes. LOVE Slip Jigs & Reels,   Really like Slip, Jigs and Reels, too! One night Larry happened to be filling in solo for another musician and he was doing more of the Punter's stuff than he normally does when

  • Re: Hockey...

So happy Ovi is back!  He's been out for 2 weeks with injury and still is tops in goals!  Must try and go see a practice this week.  The Caps practice facility is two blocks from my house and fits in nicely with the budget -- it's free!  'Cept in practice, they don't wear jerseys with names on them so hard for me

CalissaYou can also try Tidespoint here  http://www.tidespoint.ca/.  For Fred's, their online purchasing has been out of whack of late, but they are more than happy to take orders via the old-fashioned way -- by phone.  Hope you find what you are looking for!

MikeB:I suspect you won't be alone once you get there!  Unfortunately, they were playing on a weeknight in Boston recently.  Lucky Annapolis people get 4 shows in 3 days coming up! And I will be at one of those Annapolis shows!  Still wish they had had one of the double bill Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers/CL shows here in the DC/MD/VA

  • Re: GBS in San Diego

rsch: Funny story:  I had a GBS poster from the first show I saw them at from the Belly Up (Solana Beach) at the Clayton show.  After the Clayton show, we stopped in a bar and Alan was there at a table in conversation with several people.  We sat at the bar, not wanted to disturb them, and hoped for an opportunity to get the poster signed.

  • Re: In memoriam: My Gramma

So sorry for your loss -- my condolences to you and your family.  Sounds like your grandmother led an amazing life and left you a precious gift to pass on.  Hold those memories close!  ...and I just read your signature for the first time -- I absolutely love libraries, too!

  • Re: Plugging the website

Good point.  I'd been listening to the band and going to shows since @97 and it wasn't until the Molson show in 2006 that I even knew this site existed.  My lovely seat neighbors asked if I was 'on the OKP'?  I had no idea what they were talking about and checked it out when I got back home.  I do think
