Anne, if I had a way to do it I'd haul you up here to Newfoundland for a break away from everything.  I know you miss it up here, and we miss you terribly!  I keep hoping that things will work out and you'll be able to make it back up this way.  I have a feeling it might be the recharge you need.

I spent most of my life living on the West Coast (at various times in Vancouver, Surrey, Langley, Aldergrove, Abbotsford, and Chilliwack, with a few visits up to Vernon and Kelowna to visit family) and now I live in St. John's, NL.Personally, I prefer the pace of life here and the friendliness of the people.  But one thing to bear in mind is

Toutons are basically round pieces of fried bread dough, and lassie is molasses.  It's a traditional Newfoundland breakfast that I'm more than a little bit addicted to :)  Toutons taste good with jam or pancake syrup too if you aren't a fan of molasses, or you've run out.

Nepomuk:ehm, do you really think you can just add Glenn as a friend on your facebook? bit intrusive....Many of us have Glenn as a friend on Facebook.  Myself, included.  He always has the option to refuse the request or remove the 'friend' at a later date.

After reading through this topic I am now craving toutons and lassie.....and I can't make toutons that don't resemble hockey pucks!  Gah!

No matter where you look these days you will find people who expect the world on a platter.  I've done retail and restaurant work and I have given up counting how many people I dealt with on a daily basis with the attitude that they are the center of the universe.  That goes for everybody all the way down the line, with or without children.
