Benefit For Haiti

On January 14, at the Geo Centre in St. John's, NL, Great Big Sea will perform at Rock OP for Haiti, an intimate concert in support of Broken Earth, a team of physicians, nurses and physiotherapists from Newfoundland and Labrador, who have joined together to support relief efforts in Haiti.
Medical professionals from Newfoundland stepped in to help provide their expertise and help in the aftermath of one of the most devastating natural disasters in recent history and created
Broken Earth, the first collective of Eastern Health employees involved in an international relief effort. The team has become a tremendous force in Haiti, capable of caring for more than 500 patients per week.
All funds raised from Rock OP for Haiti go directly to the Broken Earth relief effort by funding two team visits to Haiti in 2012. Please to view this message from Great Big Sea about the project and then come be a part of this event, or donate to the cause by visiting BrokenEarth.ca.

Tonight on CBC, This Hour Has 22 Minutes is airing their Christmas special at 8 pm EST. Among the slew of special guests, you can catch a performance by our own Great Big Sea! We are pleased to announce that Great Big Sea, alongside Chantal Kreviazuk, Barenaked Ladies, and others, will perform in an upcoming CMT special called Gift of Giving. The program aims to raise awareness about the issue of hunger in Canada.
Gift of Giving will premiere December 1, at 8 pm, on CMT. The special will also air on YTV, W Network and Oprah Winfrey Network. For more information, including airdates and times, visit CMT.ca.

Great Big Sea are confirmed to play the 23rd annual Byron Bay Bluesfest in Australia. This premiere blues and roots festival will take place April 5-9, 2012.
