Great Big Sea's favourite American songwriter has just released a new CD. Chris Trapper's Songs from the Middle of the World (solo/acoustic rarities vol.1) is now available via his very cool new website.
"The man is a songwriting machine!" says Doyle. "I always wanted Chris to make a solo acoustic record and now its here", offers Bob. "I think he's just dreamy!", adds McCann.
Chris' writing skills will also be highlighted on the forth coming GBS record Fortune's Favour.

From the directors of the video for Great Big Sea's upcoming single, "Walk on the Moon":
ATTENTION GREAT BIG SEA FANS:
We are looking for family photos/snapshots that show great
"achievements" to be considered for use in the upcoming music video for
the track "walk on the moon". Please email photos,
no larger then 2mb along with contact information ASAP. If selected,
all persons in the photograph(s) will have to sign a release form which
we will email to you. Please only send your favorites and limit your
submission to 5 photos max.
ACHIEVEMENTS could include: sporting events, trophy presentations,
baby's first steps, riding without training wheels, fairground events /
awards, educational awards, school plays, meetings with famous people,
reaching the tops of mountains, exploring exotic places...etc.

Great Big Sea will be singing the national anthem at this Saturday's game in Montreal between the Canadiens and the Columbus Blue Jackets. This is an extra-special game as not only are the boys performing, Bob Gainey's jersey will also be retired.
The game starts at 7:30pm EST and airs on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada, Fox Sports Net in Ohio and XM Radio. Please check your local listings.
