"Remember that the life we share is nothing but a song..."

Do you ever sing along with GBS when no one is looking? Well, it’s time to storm the stage, and make yourself heard! The band has provided three instrumental versions of songs from Safe Upon The Shore and they want you to give us your best karaoke version of "Nothing But A Song", "Good People" or "Hit the Ground and Run". Download the tracks below, learn those lyrics, and videotape your best performance! Details are below, please read before submitting. Good luck to everyone, and most of all, HAVE FUN!

HOW DO I ENTER?

To enter the "Nothing But A Song" Karaoke Contest, you must upload your karaoke video as a "video response" to the official contest video on YouTube. To post a response, just click the comment box under the contest video where it says "respond to this video". Then click "attach a video", and upload your clip!

RULES

This is your time to give it all you’ve got, so be creative! You can burn the MP3 or put it on your iPod and then "karaoke" in the car on your commute, bring it to a club and karaoke in front of an audience, sing it out loud in your house, surprise friends at a party, coordinate some dance moves and make it a production.. you can do anything you want, as long as it’s YOU singing along to one of these tracks. Lip syncing does not count!

The songs are posted below. Just hit download, enter your email address, and the tracks will be delivered to your inbox. Lyrics and clips from the album versions are on the Safe Upon The Shore page to help you out.

FINALISTS

The submission portion of the contest will close at noon Eastern on Wednesday, August 18. Finalists will be chosen from the YouTube channel submissions and posted on the website for the final showdown by noon on August 20.

VOTING

Once finalists are posted, GreatBigSea.com members, MySpace and Facebook fans and Twitter followers will be encouraged to cast their votes for their favourite karaoke video. The video that receives the most votes by noon Eastern on Thursday, August 26 WINS!

WHAT COULD I WIN?

Prizes will be awarded to the winner and the first and second runner up. Up for grabs:

• First place: Four spots on the band's guest list for a concert date of your choice during the 2010 Fall tour + signed guitar picks from one of those shows.
• Second place: Two free tickets for a concert date of your choice during the 2010 Fall tour.
• Third place: Signed swag: To include an autographed copy of Safe Upon The Shore, a t-shirt and a live concert DVD.
