The downtown area is full of shops and places to eat - check it out if you can get to the city a few hours before this coming Wednesday's show!

I recommend this place http://www.muddyriver.com/mrs_home.cfm  for good food and brew - I've nver been disappointed.  IF you like ribs, get the sampler platter - you'll have to be hungry to finish it by yourself!

I have to second the nomination for Muddy River Smokehouse!  :)   Not only is the food great, but it's a block from the Music Hall.  Other cool places for a quick bite - Popovers on the Square (pastries, coffee, wine).  Also, if you have time, check out River Run Bookstore (2 doors down from Popovers).  Flatbread Company has great all-natural flatbread pizzas.   Not sure about nightlife in town this time of year.  Summer is a totally different story - Portsmouth rocks all summer long... :)

Muddy River has a downstairs blues room, but not sure if they have anything going on Wednesday nights.  I'll have to head home straight after the show anyway - have to work on Thursday (and hopefully NOT shovel the predicted snow!)

 

If you see my wife Lori and I, say hello at the Muddy RIver - we plan on getting there between 6 and 6:30.
