    I don't think I'm Crazy

A few years ago (2000-2002) I remember hearing a GBS Christmas song on a mixed album, can't track it down now. Anyone know which one I'm talking about?

By the way I'm new here but I've been a GBS fan since 1996.

Hello and welcome to the OKP, Mtodd! Smile

Nicki was offering a Christmas Wish CD on the "Christmas Season of Giving" thread. It's a mixed CD, and it has GBS doing The Seven Joys of Mary.

I'd link the thread for you here, but I haven't got a clue how to do that. baffled

What do you mean by "mixed"? that it's a compliation, or that these are copies, burned off on someone's computer?

    Re: I don't think I'm Crazy

"Mixed" as in...compilation...various artists doing their versions of chosen songs...I just ordered a copy off the Downhomer site. Can't wait to get my sure to be fantastic new Christmas CD...

Note: There is also a Christmas Wish II CD listed on this site, lots of great songs, but no indication of who is singing what though.

    Re: I don't think I'm Crazy

Shanneygannock is on it with "What Child Is This", but no Chris Andrews. If you'd like to see the CD Andi, Columbine has a link to the page on Downhomer in the thread marked Christmas Season of Giving just a few topics down from this one. I'd put it in here, but am too computer challenged to figure it out. Check it out and you can see the whole line-up!

You can also find the song on An East Coast Christmas. The track list is the following:

The Boy From The Woods - Bruce Guthro
      Mary's Boy Child - McGinty
Christmas Is The Time - Modabo
Our Christmas Ways - Maxine MacLoad
Home Is Where The Heart Is - Rose Vaughan
      O Christmas Tree/ Sheehan's Reel/ Christmas Gathering/ Marie O'Keefe - Richard Wood
Santa's Hooked On Country Music - Jimmy Flynn
Christmas Memories - Evans & Doherty
Seven Joys of Mary - Great Big Sea
Cape Breton Christmas Morn - John Gracie
The Christmas Goose - Laura Smith
      Children's Winter - Celtic Connection
In Night's Deep Silence - Rita and Mary Rankin
The Christmas Tree March /Christmas Carousing - Dave MacIsaac
      Another Christmas Song - Breton

Great CD!!! but so hard to find. I don't think it's made anymore. It took me ages to find it, and I finally picked it up one Christmas on a trip home to Nova Scotia.

    Re: I don't think I'm Crazy

Andi - Chris Andrews is the voice heard on the CD for the Shanneyganock song. Get the album - just skip that one!

I personally have always loved the Mummers Song, though I have no idea where it is from other than Christmas with Wayne Rostad. I also can't help but think Christmasy thoughts when I hear the first song ont eh new album. I know they say its really nort on the inside cover.

Let's just say it was a traumatic experience resulting in andi never wanting to go back to NFLD again. He was rude and disgusting and I'll leave it at that.
