    Cod or Mammon

We've all heard the story - foreigners fished out the stock, and by the time there were enough cod for locals to be able to fish again, the technology was so good that you could keep your family fed so long as you resigned yourself to their having to work elsewhere when the cod population was fished down past recoverability for good.

    Welcome to... New England.

On the upside, at least here in Boston we're seeing more and more affordable farm-raised tilapia, which gets two fins up on The Fish List, and which I, as a superb cook and avid piscivore, ofFISHially proclaim delicious!
