Hey I'm new to the great big sea forum, though I've been a fan my whole life. I've been listening to some other celtic bands in the maritimes and I've been finding members of great big sea playing with other bands. The Irish Descendants had them in "Downtown Girl" and The Barra MacNeils had Doyle sing in "Misty Moisty Morning." Does anyone know of any other bands that have used a member of great big sea?

Alan has performed in a band with actor Russell Crowe, The Ordinary Fear of God (TOFOG).  You might want to check out GBS Podcast #5 from 1/24/07 to hear some more GBS guest spots.

Barras actually had all of Great Big Sea on Misty Moisty Morning :)

 

And Bruce Guthro has several ( if not all) of the members of GBS on  "Jerusalem"

 

They have helped on on Michelle Doyle's cd ,too.

I know there are more, they are very generous with their help. I also know that Sean wrote a song for Aislyn Debison too.

On the same CD as Downtown Girl, Alan also sings on Not For The Money Alone. On another Irish Descendants CD, they all sang on Step it Out Mary. Alan and Bob also appears on Celtic Connection's The Last Shanty and they sang on Oysterband's After Rain.

Fire in the Kitchen cd  by the cheiftans had not only Great Big Sea but many other artists as well.

And the Government Rams cd had several members of GBS on it. You can really hear them on "I had a hat" - fun song.
