Really, more than anything I'm surprised that this thread got such a response. It was intended to be a bit of harmless fun, snagged from an idea I got somewhere in the Bob thread. I understand that it ought to have been presented more tastefully but come on, lighten up, and take a step back.Nothing posted in this thread so far hasn't been posted by someone else on this forum before, and there was no jumping down anyone's throat then. In fact the pics seemed to have gotten a lot of admiration. (But what would I know I've only read all of the b'ys threads all the way through once.)

Anyhow I want to make a formal apology on my part, I really did not intend any disrespect,and I'm sorry if I offended anyone, and I hope we can all get along.

Hey Loula - I haven't visited the OKParty in ages. I haven't looked at the thread in question, and I'm not drawn to doing that, but I've been a fan for ages and I've seen the OKPoop fly many-a-time. 

Some people need to go out, take a walk, breathe some fresh air, back away from the computer keyboard for a few days, or weeks, or even years. It helps. And, as I've seen over the years, some people are offended by almost nothing, some are offended by almost everything, others like to rake the muck, others thrive on the support group dynamic following every scuffle, and some cling to an invented US vs. THEM mentality.

Generally, I agree with you. People, by-and-large, could definitely lighten up. But, as I said I haven't read through the most recent crapstorm.

I second what Tina said. Tolerance is something very hard to come by here and all hell breaks loose frequently. There are those who will try to tell you that people have stopped coming because they do not like the discussions that keep popping up but I think more people are put off by the constant poop-flinging that occurs at the drop of a hat. Be prepared for outrage to ensue over this thread that will perhaps be greater than what was voiced in the first thread. (I, myself, am fully expecting to get screamed at for having posted this and have even been told that I have no right to voice my opinion here.)

It's normal that we're not going to all agree it's just too bad that people are quick to attack and even quicker on the defensive REGARDLESS of what the argument is about.

Wouldn't it be great if no one ever got offended? Yes, it would, but it's not going to happen here.

When I was in grade 8, leather pants was the hot thing for boys until one day, in MRE class (moral and religious education, with a whole lot of sex-ed thrown in), the teacher informed the boys of why wearing leather pants was a bad idea. I figure Alan would have been about in grade 11, you'd think he'd know better ;)
