In reading through reviews from the recent string of shows, I came upon this comment in the thread from the Cohasset, Mass. show:

Sean's big joke last night was that they were the only band to play the South Shore Music Circus that had never been on Letterman. 

Hmmm ... the topic didn't come up at the Toronto show. But, having seen that concert, I have to say the boys are in great form. And when you look at their fall schedule, they will be spending some time in the northeast U.S. I'm sure they could squeeze in a quick stop in NYC if Letterman called.

 So, what are we waiting for? Let's do some lobbying and tell the folks at the Late Show that they need to invite Great Big Sea to their stage. Heck, Paul Schaffer is Canadian - might he know the band? Does anyone in the GBS organization know Paul to get his ear?

Just a thought. The Late Show web page is easy to get to from www.cbs.com under "shows." Their "contact us" email address is cbsmailbag@aol.com. I'm sure more creative approaches on Facebook or Twitter (or maybe old-fashioned snail-mail?) might catch someone's eye too.

I was at the Cohasset show and I was thinking the same thing.  Thanks for getting the ball rolling.  I'm off to compose an email! 

Whatever it takes - the more the merrier! Somewhere around here I mentioned how cool it would be for GBS to have a tune on the soundtrack. I'm picturing "Company of Fools" playing as the final credits roll. Didn't Alan write that with R.Crowe? Not sure if it will fit the tone of the movie though.

We can only hope. And yes, get those p.r. people making the big bucks to market the whole package!

We did this a few years ago, with no results, but if they keep hear/seeing the name reappear, maybe they'll take notice.

I definitely agree, that if you drop RC's name in your email and mention the new movie it will DEFINITELY get more notice.

I sent my email weeks ago and never heard a word back.  Coincidentally, I mentioned the words "Russell Crowe" in the email!

 It can't hurt, right? 

I told them if they have Russell and GBS together..Russell would be more than happy to sing with the band!!

This is all good. The more times GBS pops up, the more likely someone is to check them out. I like the idea of Russell joining in too - seems like a great way to push the movie next spring!
