Noise Bylaw Exemption

City council has granted an exemption from the noise bylaw for the band Great Big Sea, in conjunction with the Great Big Jam Music Festival. That will permit the amplification of music during the event, until midnight on August 22. The normal timeframe would only permit amplification until 8 p.m. The festival will be held at Dow People Place in Centennial Park.

The Sarnia, Ontario date is actually 9/24 and not 8/22.  This means either 'The Observer' has reported the wrong date or the City Council has approved the wrong date.  GBS may want to be sure the City Council has approved the correct date.
