St. Louis Show at the Pageant

Ok - now that I have my tickets, we need to make sure we fill the Pageant.  The turnout at the Touhill was disappointing at best.  Beat the drum and get the word out that GBS is coming to St. Louis and its a show you don't want to miss!

Re: St. Louis Show at the Pageant

Hopefully they actually advertise this one in the P-D and the RFT.  Last time it was about 40 loyal fans, and Touhill season ticket holders who didn't know what they were going to (but did seem to enjoy it).

I know the next day, they blogged about how things got messed up-not only with the tickets, but also apparently miscommunication, as to whether the band or the venue were supposed to handle the promotions.

Anyway, the Pageant is a better venue since it doesn't have permanent seats, and is in a much better location.

Looks like the Pagaent is just getting ready to start the regular sale (I missed out on the presale - D'oh!). Running a buy 3 get 1 free in the general admission section for a week too.

This will be my 1st time seeing the lads, and I'm very excited.  We're almost certainly bringing the kids (5 and 7) as they adore GBS,  despite it being a school night.  Just have to figure out how to convince my son to leave his bodhran at home - he got it for his 7th B-day so he could be (more) like Sean!

    Cheers,

Re: St. Louis Show at the Pageant

I'll be there as well; going to St. Louis for a conference that weekend.  Got 2 tics at the presale, but I couldn't tell from the presale whether they were GA tics or reserved.  I assumed the whole floor would be general admission, so thought they'd just be GA, but looking at the ticketmaster layout and the Pageant website on the show, it looks like there are reserved seats for the first 12 - 15 rows, and then general admission behind it?  I haven't been able to get ahold of the box office to clarify the seating.  I'd like to have it figured out; might try for some reserved seats up front when the regular sale starts.

Anybody have more info on this show?

Tix on sale this afternoon (7/10) at 5 p.m. Central time.

Claudia, once the tix go on sale, I should get a view of the set-up.  I believe it's floor-only, with most seats reserved, except for a GA section of seats around the back.  I believe it is the third one "reserved main floor" on this link:  http://www.thepageant.com/contact.html#maps  The presale tix are in the "Orch" section, if I understand things correctly, but someone from GBS or the venue would need to confirm that.

Re: St. Louis Show at the Pageant

Thanks for the info.  You were absolutely correct; in fact I got 2 tics through the presale in row 4 orchestra, and signed on right at 5pm CDT through t-master, and got 3 more in row 5.  So my merry band will be close in and close together on a lovely Sunday night in St. Louis.  Can't wait!

Well, we'll see some of your band in row 5 then as that's where we got tix too!

Re: St. Louis Show at the Pageant

Wonderful.  Just a heads up.  I called the venue to check up on the seats just before the sale, and they said there was a "minor surcharge" of $2.00 per head to be assessed at the door.  So if you bring your kids (and they are welcome, as it's an "all ages" show, and the boys really enjoy having kids there, just be prepared to pay the fee at the door.  I have no idea why, and the person I talked to didn't know why either.  Seems to me there should be a "rowdy GBS fan" surcharge for the mischief makers, not for the wee ones.  Especially when the vertical movement and subsequent bouncy bits get out of control!

You said it's your first show; welcome, and you are in for a treat.  Look forward to meeting you.  We'll have a couple of minors with us as well, but a bit older than yours.

Re: St. Louis Show at the Pageant

I would assume that the "minor surcharge" is for kids who don't have paid admission? Not for kids who are entering with a full priced ticket. We're going to the Normal show and taking our 5 year old, who has a full priced ticket. I didn't even bother to ask if they had alternative options. We just wanted the awesome seats!

Nope.  It's on top of the ticket.  I guess they assume my kids won't drink as much beer as I will.

Wow!  Looking forward to seeing everyone at the show.  I received the ticket confirmation, but have'nt seen the tickets in the mail yet.  We will be in Row 3 Orchestra with 4 of our kids.  This will be concert number 2 for all of them.  Its going to be great!
