    *Dogs* Falling Through Ice!

Imagine my surprise when I was watching the 11pm news just a few moments ago, and they ran a story from Canada about two dogs being rescued after they fell through the ice.

You know my ears perked up at the announcement of animals "falling through ice"

And as the film clip rolls, the headline reads "St. John's, Canada,  Newfoundland"

Perhaps this will inspire another song...

They looked like a couple of wet, grateful pooches...and my heart goes out to them.

I guess we can add them to the list of Newfoundlanders who have made an impression on us here in Seattle!

    Cheers!

Life is not a journey to the grave to be arrived at in a beautiful and well preserved body, but rather to slide in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a ride!"

And in Colorado, a dog fell through, then the dog's owner... and both were saved by a kid on his way home from school early because he was feeling sick, who managed to haul them out with his backpack while on the phone to 911.  News clip here.

Look out for that spring ice, people!  And if there are migrating birds about, do whatever you can to make sure your dog doesn't get away from you to chase them!

I've got an idea for words to the song:

Here's to Spotty dog and here's to the half-dead master.

No better dog to chase the hog nor fetch the stick more faster

Here's to Spotty dog and there's something you all should know

Spotty's gone to the big kennel where allk good doggies go.

I swear, I did not copy this from a certain song called 'Concerning Charlie Horse'
