    Flashy Avatar

I've seen avatars before, here and on other message boards, that flash multiple pictures and sometimes text, and I was just wondering how one would go about making one of those.

They are usually "GIF"s - you can either find them pre-made on various internet sites, or you need software to make them!

Sorry if that's not much help!

    Re: Flashy Avatar

For the purposes of this site, the animated avatars are all gifs.

I have the software but NOT on my laptop... and my desktop is barely breathing.  IF I could get it running and IF I could get it to load the program, it would probably crash the moment I tried to save it.  *sigh*

    So check out these sites:

    http://www.gifninja.com/

    http://www.gifworks.com/

I should warn you though, that first one especially is high-res and content heavy.  It will take a bit to load for you.

    EDITED TO ADD:

GAAH!  I'm having trouble loading these pages.  To cut a step out, go directly to http://www.gifninja.com/CreateAGif.aspx

As I recall you are on dial-up I think?  So set it to load and then go make something to eat... or do some laundry... or something.

Better yet, visit your dear old uncle and use his computer! *LOL*

Keep in mind that most forums have size restrictions on avatars so don't use high-res photos.  They're small anyway so you high-res is a waste anyway.
