Hey Shady.....fellow Texan here....Central Texas for me. Used to be, back in The Good Old Days, GBS played what I call the Texas Trifecta........Dallas, Houston and Austin, they even played at College Station one trip. I used to live a little closer to Austin and went into town to see them twice. The last time they were down this way was on the Something Beautiful tour. They do have a loyal fan base in this area and I for one would travel to Austin , Dallas and even Houston (and I dont even visit my family in Houston lol). I would love to see them perform at Stubbs in Austin again...simply because I love that venue. My guess is that they havent been back down this way because of simple economics. Even playing gigs on the way, it must be tremendously expensive to tour down this far. Maybe since the lastest release is Trad, someone thought it might not go over well here even tho Austin is a mecca for all genres of music. I have noticed that most of the segments this tour season have been 3-4 weeks away with 2-3 weeks at home. There are new little ones waiting at home...I wouldnt want to miss too much of that time myself. Meanwhile, I check the tour schedule weekly hoping to see a Texas date.....just keep the faith and the ship will come in!
