I think it's about time to update the merchandise. I suggested this about 6-12 months ago and got an e-mail back saying soon. The calendar on the website says 2007 and its all the stuff from the hard and the easy tour and the boys are doing Fortune Favours tour now.... PLEASE update and add children's appearal. I bought a toddler sweater and would like to purchase more things.... so would many other ppl!! PLEASE ADD NEW MERCHANDISE!

How about some pictures from the homeland?

Greetings ~

It occurred to me at the Portsmouth show Friday night that it would be great to hear the band at some point in their banter mention that they have this awesome spot online. I spoke with people all around me at the show and none of them had ever been here. Some were new fans, but others have been following the band for some time. (The man in front of me had a 1999 concert shirt on. He, his wife and two kids knew all the words to all of the songs, too.) We talked about new songs the band has been trying out at other shows and Sean's little video on the bus. The guy next to me asked if I was a friend of the band. I laughed and said 'I wish!' and why did he think that? He wondered how I knew about what they were singing on the bus. It's on the internet, I told him. Sean on Twitter and ooodles of photos and clips that people post here after shows.

Anyway, it might be nice for them to drop that tidbit when they have hundreds of fans assembled before them. Don't assume they all know about gbs.com. I know I've been amazed at the number of other fans I've come across and how dedicated they are to sharing their experiences.

Maybe I'm the only one disturbed by this, but both Bob's Soundtrack and Alan's From the Road pages still have headers that say "2008." Since we're very nearly half way through 2009, it may be prudent to update the headers.

I'm just sayin.....

I a writing with one and one request only. Please please please please please try and fit in a Uk or Europe tour date..... I found your band about 6 months ago now and can honestly say I like every single song which is a rarilty for any band. Everyone I have let listen to your albums loves you.

I think you should cross the atlantic and brave the Uk shores, as I desperatley want to see you play live. I think it would be amazing.

tickets for the 10/3/09 concert

On June 15 I ordered tockets for the 10/3 concert in Glen Ellyn Illinois and was told I would receive the tickets in 3 weeks. I have not gotten them yet. I have tried to contact someone regarding this but have been unsuccessful Can anyone tell me a phone number of a web site where I can find out what is going on.

Hey!! When you did the Atlantic Canada part of your tour, you only had one stop in NL!!!! Why not come to Corner Brook??? I read on Alan's Blog that he would've come to the ECMA's but was busy, as to be expected!!! But it has been YEAR's since GBS played here!!! We need you guys to come back!! Hopefully in the fall??

Release music without DRM?

Hello!

As a long time fan of your music, I am eager to buy your latest album. Since I would only play it on my computer and MP3 player, there is no need for me to buy the physical CD: I only need the electronic files. However, it seems that the online retailers (puretracks.com and i-tunes at least) only have versions with DRM (Digital Rights Management) on them. This makes it so the song can only be played on some supported devices, a single computer, and otherwise restrict use. Since I don't use an MP3 player which supports DRM, and two computers, these DRM enabled songs are useless to me.

I am asking that you consider releasing your next album (or current ones? :) ) without DRM. If it is not in your power as to how it is released, could you please ask the people who make that call to not use DRM in the future. I would love to buy your new album online today (saving the cost and environmental impact of shipping, CD production, and physical store space), but sadly I must wait and buy the physical CD so I can rip it and play it the way I want to.

Pre-sales...what's the rush?

I wholeheartedly am grateful that the site offers pre-sale tickets for the shows and thank y'all for doing so...so please bear in mind that this question is asked in kindness and good faith...

...but honestly, what is the rush with pre-sales of late?

Why are we getting notified of pre-sales less than 24 hours before they occur? My notification for the Chicago presale occuring today did not arrive in my inbox until 11pm CDT last night and the sale is this morning at 10 am. If I hadn't gotten the heads up from another fan last night, I wouldn't have known about this sale until after it had already began.

It used to be that pre-sales take place a few days after the email went out (and sometimes even as much as a week or more). Lately, it's less than a day's notice. I may check my email and the boards often enough that' I've luckily not missed out on an important notice like this, but others don't or can't. The shows are usually months off from the date of the sale and y'all don't often even have the actual tickets from the venue yet for shipping...so honestly, why rush?

Please, if it is at all possible, give us more of a heads up for future pre-sales...2-3 days usually suffices, but a week would be great...

Again, thanks for running the pre-sales. They are appreciated and I personally feel y'all do a great job running them, but if you could take this suggestion into consideration I expect it would ease the frustration of more than a few fans.

Search messages option

A search button would be FANTASTIC on this board. It's rough coming in now and trying to find a thread on something specific. If there was a "search messages" option, we could just type in the keyword we're looking for instead of having to sift through THOUSANDS of posts to find information that may or may not have already been discussed.

It would definitely help in repeat threads too.

Ive noticed a few writers topics poping about, so maybe a writers forum where we could toss around ideas and evaluate others writing, maybe have contests and whatnot. Could be all kind of writing too, im not just talking novels, im also saying poetry, music, short stories and that stuff. Just an ida, but I thinks it could be interesting if not fun.

Improve Merchandise Page

I think the merchandise page could be greatly improved.
(So how bored am I tonight?)
Firstly I would like Baseball Caps & Coffee Mugs added yesterday. Then I think it might be time to take down the 2007 calendar, I know it's on sale but I think you should just eat the unsold copies at this point.

My last suggestion is about some of the T-shirts photos. You need to change those. They look rather like crime scene or autopsy photos. the head and hands chopped off and on a background that could well be an examining table. They are odd, ugly and do little to display the artwork on the shirt. I propose you post the shirt graphic as you do for the Hard & The Easy shirt/CD pack and also have a shot showing most of a person wearing it, in fact I insist on seeing over 6.5/8ths of a head, perhaps in a Newfoundland setting.

I look forward to the changes, call me when you get the baseball caps in.

Hi....I see some are already starting up new threads just for their own pictures and videos from the cruise. I'd really like to see all of it but don't have time to go through a whole bunch of threads that'll wind up getting scattered all over the board.

Could the mods please combine the threads into one big one?....a photo/video thread and maybe another one for reviews too? All of us who have limited leisure internet time would be very grateful!
