MikeB:During the show Privett told the audience to burn copies of their new CD, Nothing Rhymes With Woman, and give them to friends to get more people at their shows - first time I can remember a band coming out and saying this well known fact - bands make more money playing concerts (even at small venues) then selling CDs.
I often wonder how bands feel about this. I purchased all my GBS CDs, but made myself extra copies to play in the car. If anyone I meet ever expresses any interest in GBS I just go into my car and give them one of the CDs I've burned. I think GBS probably gets alot of new fans by word of mouth and some copied CDs. GBS is almost unheard of in NJ. If I burn a CD and make someone else into a fan, they will soon become addicted (as all of here know) buy more CDs, concert tickets, t-shirts, posters, 2007 wall calendars, etc. I would think bands wouldn't care.
Or now that I've confessed this, are Great Big Henchmen going to show up at my door?
