National Student Exchange- apparently Canada is considered part of the US. Don't ask me, I didn't organize it!
I needed two references- one from my advisor, one from a faculty member. That went pretty quickly, since my advisor is very much in favor and my theater professor is also my boss, and the only reason she might not want me to go is because I'm willing to hand-sew black on black for several shifts in a row without bitching. Well, except when I stick myself with the needle.
It's still not a done deal, because my grades from my old school didn't transfer here and my first semester here I had two pass/fail classes and two classes I did poorly in. If the P/F classes had been figured into my GPA, I'd be fine, but they aren't, so my grades took a header and I'm still pulling them up to what I consider an acceptable GPA. Everyone's been very understanding about it, and they agree that it isn't quite fair that two bad classes could screw everything up, but the rules aren't very flexible so they can't do anything. But they're hopeful that if I continue to pull up my grades this semester (a given) and the rest of my history is considered, I should be accepted.
