The time of ghouls and ghosties is drawing near!

I need a non-slutty, non obnoxiously cheesy, cheap do-it-yourself costume appropriate for trick-or-treating at the Embassies in DC. Ideas are appreciated. I'll be with college folk, so the idea is to not look like a working girl, but not exactly gor-ific zombie either.
