I love eating Banana Maple Porridge..... I make it with a half cup of oatmeal to 1 cup of milk. Put them in a saucepan and before you heat it up but in a sliced banana. Heat it up and make the porridge in the normal way. Before you serve add a dash of cold milk and enough maple syrup as required. Its a real winter warmer Jan

Ah. Stewed tomatoes and eggs. It's very lovely, I agree. Mushrooms are good with just about anything but especially eggs.
There's a rope around my neck and there's a trigger in your gun. Jesus, say something. I am someone, I am someone I am someone.

Custard Muffins Go to the bakery at the end of the day and get the half-price muffins - any kind, corn, blueberry, you name it. 1 stale muffin 1 egg 1 cup milk Sweetener (sweet-n-low works fine, but you can use sugar, honey, maple!) Cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla Cut muffin into small pieces and put in a bowl. Scramble egg and thoroughly combine with other ingredients and cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly with a whisk. PAY ATTENTION - when it's ready it'll bubble up fast! Pour over muffin crumbs. Serves 1 adult or 2 kids.

Re: Breakfasts?
To My favorite B'ys please return to Boise on your November portion of the tour. Breakfast awaits at Goldy's. The best breakfast in the Pacific Northwest worth the wait.

When I was in Alnwick the host of the place I stayed apologized that I could only have the famous local kippers for breakfast if I reserved a day in advance, so I said (having no clue what it was) "That's OK, I'll be here a few days! Day after tomorrow would be great." So two days thence I sat down to breakfast and was presented with an entire smoked fish. Now, remember, I'm a Viking! I tucked in with a will, then proceeded to climb and photograph the heck out of Dunstanburgh Castle. (Even managed to get a sunburn, and it was September. Everyone figured I'd brought the sun over as a photo effect.) So if you're ever in Alnwick, special-request kipper for breakfast! Waes hael! What the heck, if you like castle ruins, stay at Alnwick, and bring plenty of extra camera batteries. There are lots of great ones really nearby.
Love, Columbine (who really misses crawling around old castles!)

I absolutely love eggs benedict, and if you ever find yourself in Stratford Ontario go to Tango Cafe. They have the Grampa Benny which features local ham (sooo good) and the Benny Schwartz (with smoked salmon). Hubby has been making smoothies for breakfast lately - a cup of orange juice, about a cup of frozen berries (blueberries, strawberries, whatever we have) and a cup of yogurt. Blended all together with maybe a teaspoon of sugar or a drizzle of honey. I found a recipe that adds some rolled oats as well for extra fibre. This fills me up pretty good and keeps me going until lunchtime. When I was a little kid, my mom made the egg in a slice of bread thing, and she also called it Toad in the Hole. For weekend breakfasts, I sometimes make pancakes. Otherwise, we often have scrambled or fried eggs with slices of Canadian bacon and sauteed mushrooms, seasoned with McCormicks roasted garlic and pepper seasoning (I put that on almost everything LOL). I also like making breakfast tortillas with scrambled eggs, sliced peppers, salsa and some grated cheese.
