    Michele:
Interesting analysis, Frosty. I never would have thought of any of those things having been done in their photos. Makes me wonder what exactly they did do with this picture. It's more Sean's face, though, that doesn't look like him to me. I guess it must be the angle.

I agree entirely. I wasn't thinking of it from a manipulation perspective either. I noticed right away that there was something that looked really different with his face alone.

Sorry for going off on a tangent ladies , and yes I know what you mean, you'd almost swear it was a body double they used, or his twin brother. LOL.

I found this new pic of Sean rather interesting ! , it's really got that famous Jim Carrey
"Mask" kind of look to it !

Great analysis Frosty!  I'll agree that never entered my mind. Still, love the tie and shoes.

    Hi Honey,

Ah those shoes, Sean loves those shoes, and for good reason.  For those who have never worn a pair, buy some for your husband, they are amazing.  I've been wearing them for years, and they are very comfortable.  Not sure if they exist for woman though ( ? ) , so buy your hubby a pair, and try them out when nobody is looking Angel

Banks of Newfoundland is on the track list, cant wait to see which of the 3 versions I know of they use, but I have my guess. They are all different tunes and different lyrics.

And it was a tune I put on the "What Songs should GBS do" threads that pop up each year.

I only know the version of Banks of Newfoundland that Shanneyganock does as the encore on Live At O'Reily's.

I don't suppose they'd do a version too simillar to Shanneyganock's version, but how different can the other versions be?  I am curious Nick...what are the other versions like, and what is your guess?

I heard a version that the Irish Rovers did...it's nothing like the instrumental and it has lyrics.

Re: NEW CD "FORTUNE'S FAVOUR" 6/24

As for Banks of Newfoundland the first version I am aware of I heard first on an Album called Blow Boys Blow song samples here. Ewan Mcoll and A.L. Loyd one of these two was in charge of the Music on the original Moby Dick Movie, I forget which one.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/recsradio/radio/B0000058QN/ref=pd_krex_listen_dp_img?ie=UTF8&refTagSuffix=dp_img

The lyrics are very similar to those found here

    http://sniff.numachi.com/aidx/tidxB.html

The second version with very different lyrics and tune I head performend by a band called Woods Tea Company. That one is about a brave young captain who dies, you will never guess where... Idont have much more info than that for this one.

The third version I have heard only once on CJYQ, sung by female vocalists who's names they did not announce, it had only a few of the lyics similar to the first group cited, but most of it was different as was the tune.

My guess is the GBS version will be closest to the first one which I think is the more traditional.

Earlier in the tread I was a bit down on Walk on the Moon, as being over produced, I listened to two of the other tunes from FF they now have up on the player on the home page and I like them quite a bit more. Still a bit heavy on the studio effects but I instantly liked them.

Then there's the version by Eugene Ripper on "Fast Folk Underground 2.0," which I first heard on "Celt in a Twist."
