I've been skinny dipping!  I was working a weekend concert held at a ski lodge, and there were no showers, but there was a very nice pond, and in the early morning it was just me and the frogs.  I maintain that a bit of algae is very good for the hair.

I have never had a broken bone.

Re: NEW GAME! I have never...

Oh I have.  I was nine years old and we had just started our two-week family vacation in Florida.  The wind blew a heavy door closed, trapping my hand in the process.  My Dad and Grandfather actually knew it was me by the scream and came running.  My Mom thought that I was going to lose my finger tips.  Well I didn't, I got six stitches, the doctor set the bone incorrectly and to this day the scar and bump are still visible.  The worst part of it was that I loved (and still do) swimming and would spend all day in the pool or Gulf.  However it took four days to determine a way to keep my hand dry, and at that I was a very self concious kid to be swimming around with all this plastic and tape covering the hand, so it took another day to get over that!

Anyway, enough of me!  I have never had to wear a plaster cast as a result of breaking a bone.

Re: NEW GAME! I have never...

I have a very amusing story about riding the Bullet Train from Paris to Antwerp for free.  It all had to do with a snotty Parisian ticket agent who sold me a ticket to "Anvers" (Antwerp) instead of "Auvers" (the Paris suburb where Van Gogh spent the last weeks of his life).  Once I arrived in Antwerp and figured out what had happened, I made arrangements to take the next train back to Paris.  While waiting I stole a glass of fizzy water (apparently there's a difference between Belgium marks and the German marks I had...and the currency exchange was closed).  I returned to Paris and raised such a stink about getting a refund ("We can't refund your money because you used the ticket"  "Yes...I used the ticket...because I thought I was going to AUVERS....") that I was escorted out of the Gare du Nord by a trio of AK-47 toting police officers.  I went back to the ticket agency where I purchased the ticket, but it was closed.  I finally found an open ticket counter, explained my story once again, and after they asked me if it was "the agent on the right or the agent on the left" who sold me the ticket I replied "the one on the right."  The two agents helping me nodded their heads in some type of acknowledgement (apparently the agent on the right had a reputation for messing with tourists) and refunded my money.  I stubbornly fought back my tears of gratitude.  I wasted a day of my vacation going from ticket office to ticket office, righteously pointing at "Auvers" in my Frommer's...but I was vindicated.

I went to Belgium and stole a glass of fizzy water.  And I rode the Bullet Train for free.

I have never been a bridesmaid.

    Cheers!

I have never seen nor lit a peat fire, but I've been in Ireland, and I think the whole country smells like a peat fire.

I have never gone to a professional football game.  (By football, I mean American Football, not that I've ever been to a professional soccer game either, but I did sing along with "Ole Ole Ole" at the GBS show at the Bowery Ballroom in January.  Unusual chant, still don't know what that was all about, but it was very funny.)

(I hope I am able to revive this thread after 5 long months.  I took my daughters and their friends out to lunch today, and while we were waiting for our food, my 12 year old said "let's play 'I have never'."  We had so many laughs in the restaurant, I thought I ought to dig it out of the archives and see how it goes!)

Re: NEW GAME! I have never...

I am lucky enough to have been in Europe! When I was 16 a group of kids from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia went to Switzerland, Italy and England. An unforgettable experience for sure.

And just a few years ago I had the good fortune to be in Ireland with Jim Fidler, Ron Hynes, Pamela Morgan, Hugh Scott, Colleen Power and the one and only Darrell Power! St. Paddy's week in Cork, Ireland!

I have never been to a frat party.

Re: NEW GAME! I have never...

What's a frat party?  I think I'd remember if I'd been to one.  I've never been on a sailboat but when my son recovers enough from an accident he had, he's taking me out on the boat he bought just before.  I've been to Europe and Ireland but not in such exhalted company, I was tempted to type this in a jealous shade of green.  I live on a farm, fairly bleak at this time of year and the mud walks in all by itself, but it has its moments...

I have never eaten a fiddlehead!

Mmmmm, fiddleheads! So good with butter, salt and a sprinkling of parmesan! So I guess you've figured that I've eaten them!

I have never had a full driver's license (had a beginner's years ago, but never got my full license, and I do regret it.)
