    Re: GBS dreams?

Ugh...mine was a bad dream!  I totally blame the fact that I took cough/cold medicine right before going to bed.  This is how my dream goes...

There was a concert in the basement of our state capitol building (apparantly, in my world, there's a small venue there) and we had tickets.  We got there to find that it was General Admission and we were the only people securing a spot next to the stage.  Everyone else was sitting down in chairs in an adjacent room. Sitting? What the heck? We think this is strange, but like the fact that it's not too difficult to secure our spot while we wait.  The lights go off and ALL of those people come rushing in.  It's an opening act and once they realize it they all go sit down again (why so mean?), but we (my husband and I) dance it up for the opener.  For some reason my husband is a good dancer in this dream, again must be because of the cough/cold medicine I took.  When GBS takes the stage everyone comes roaring back in the room.  Did I mention that a guy I used to have a crush on in high school was there and he had on heelies (those shoes with wheels on the bottom) and kept rolling in and out of the room...another strange aspect of the dream.  Anyhoo...Kris was not the drummer.  It was just Murray, Alan, and Bob, and some mystery drummer we had never seen before.  A chant started "We want Kris, we want Kris," but he never showed up. Did anyone notice Sean was also missing from the list.  He was not there either (which at this point and time in the dream takes it from a "bad dream" status to a "nightmare"), but there was no mystery stand in for him.  I instantly am heartbroken as I am a Shantyfan.  My chant was different than those around me...I love Kris, but how can these people be forgetting Sean.  My personal chant is - "We want Kris and I want Sean!"  So, no Kris and no Sean, but that is only the beginning of this dream...it gets worse.

    Re: GBS dreams?

Okay here's two.  The first is a recurring dream I've had off and on for the summer.  The setting changes but there's always a bunch of people around that I know in the dream but not in real life and I always end up chatting with Alan's wife.  Huh?  She's really nice and we get along well.  We talk about all kinds of things like friends would.  I have no idea who Mrs. Doyle is or what she looks like, but she always looks the same in my dreams.  I'd like to meet her and just to see how close my subconcious is.

The other I've only had once.  I can't remember why exactly, but I'm having a cup of tea in the kitchen of a sweet lady of the grandmotherly sort.  I'm there with my five year old son and I know this lady through him somehow. I wander into the living room and she has an old upright piano covered in pictures, as they often are.  There are pictures of people of all ages and stages in life, some pictures are new, some old. Then I notice the by's are in several of the pictures.  All of them.  Like this is the whole band's grandmother somehow.  I turn to the woman to ask her about the pictures and she smiles before I say anything and that's it.

They are lovely dreams but I don't get it.

    Re: GBS dreams?

Knowing that I am going to 3 GBS concerts make me have a lot of dreams about them. I remember my dreams a lot anyway.

I was at a concert with a person from my school that I only met once and we were in the boys washroom. Eeeee! That part is freaky! So anyway, the concert only lasted 5 minutes or something so we went back to my school and there was a HUGE traffic jam on the way home and the person put her feet up on the steering wheel.

    Re: GBS dreams?

I had the weirdest dream last night!

Me and my family were at this GBS concert that was supposed to be in this gym place and it was too crowded or GBS wasn't playing right then or something. But hours later, they told us there was a play that GBS was in or something outside. During the play, the directer told them to be careful and Murray (who was wearing ski pants and a blue shirt that said something on it that I can't remember) Fell off the stage backwards and he couldn't move and he was in extreme pain and they put him on a stretcher but then my mom told me that it wasn't Murray who fell off, it was an actor in the play. Then GBS-like people came out, but then I woke up before they all got on stage.

I hope Murray NEVER really falls off the stage!

    Re: GBS dreams?

I've had a number of gbs dreams over the past few months with all the new tour activity. I usually wake up with a vapor of memory and promptly forget everything. A few nights ago I tossed and turned all night which is probably why I remember this one.

I was at a sit down gbs show (felt like a showcase or gala show or something). I was in the audience near the stage and all of a sudden this hunk in rock star sunglasses comes up and sits down behind me in a plastic folding chair (weird how that detail stuck in mind). I look back as he sits down. I'm standing up in front of the row of chairs he's sitting in. Next thing I notice is two girls all over him, one on each side, kissing his face off.

I recognize him slightly and say, "Are you Lenny Kravitz?" (smooth I know. hahaha! ;) He smiles and says yes. I distinctly recall moving in toward him (as girl formerly beside him fades from my dream) to SNIFF his face. HAHAHA!!! Then, I wake up with the distinct impression that he smells GOOD.

I blame the Greek Pizza I had for dinner. We're going to see Kravitz in a few weeks, but have no intention of SNIFFING him! lol.

    Re: GBS dreams?

Tina - that is hysterical!!  On the subject of GBS dreams (and I have had a few lately due to all of the concert reviews and pics- all perfectly innocent), I did actually have one last week with you in it.  Can't remember the whole thing, but I was in the audience and YOU were singing backup.  The other really bizarre thing was that Alan had bangs.  Surprise  Took me a minute to figure out why he looked so different.  Actually woke up thinking "What the hell was THAT about?!??!" and it made me chuckle.

nova - hahaha. It couldv'e been you! It was logistics I think. The blond lovely had to disappear so I could get my shnoz close to his cheek. Actually I had a Ships & Dip dream a few weeks ago that you were in--you naughty girl--you and Adam. hahaha... I woke up and stared at him HARD. Angel

Kim - apparently I appeared in another friend's GBS dream too a couple weeks ago. I was a gyspy-folk-chick playing the same festival stage as a bunch of bands. And, well I'll spare you the deets, but apparently I was a big hit! Angel ...oh the exciting life I lead vicariously through my friends' dreams.

It must be this teleportation idea I'm working on. You just never know where I'll turn up! Big Smile  Angel

    Re: GBS dreams?

How's this for a strange one...

It was one of those dreams of a bunch of unconnected things thrown together.

I went to see the guys at their Office (it was more like a dentist's office). Sean's brother (wasn't Glenn or Kevin so I don't know where he came from) was left in charge of the office. Someone came in and Brother went to show them around and left me in charge of the office but didn't leave me any keys and all the doors were locked. Luckily no one else showed up. Then I discovered I had bugs in my hair. They looked like bed bugs only they were many times bigger, about the size of ants. I tried washing my hair to get rid of them but nothing would come of in the sink. Brother came back an wondered what the big deal with the bugs was.

Thankfully I woke up and ended the storyline.

    Re: GBS dreams?

I had a GBS related dream last night but GBS wasn't in it. I was touring a brand new high school with my Principal and Candace (the OKP's Candace). The setting was in Fairmount Park and it was built into a cliff. The construction was paid for with corporate dollars and it was interesting to see what companies had donated. The Wistar Institute had built a state-of-the-art amphitheatre/auditorium complete with the latest in audio and visual gear. I think the b'ys were playing there that evening. The cafeteria was built and furnished by one of the big hotel chains, I think Merck providied the Science labs but the really odd thing was the "Electron Lab" which was named after its donor, Elton John. During the tour, I glimpsed our school's Financial Officer, Zulaikha, disecting a cadaver in one of the labs.

When Chris and I got to the cafeteria (Candace was interested in the auditorium and had wandered there) I saw Teddy from the UK, Alex from Italy and AngC eating at a table. Warm hellos and hugs ensued and then we had to leave. I think I was driving my Principal home. When we got to the lot, my car was not visible. It was a very small lot and I didn't know how they had gotten all the cars parked there. I soon found out - it was like a scene from the Matrix. I gave the attendant my ticket stub, he ran it thru a machine and my car suddenly materialized (oozing from the ground in another dimension) and I drove away.

    Weird.

    Re: GBS dreams?

I only slept two hours or so last night (damn sinus migraine) but I managed to have my own brief GBS nightmare...

All that happened was:  I was sitting around talking to the b'ys when Sean wanted to have a jam session and told me to get out my bodhran.  When I did, I discovered that for some reason I had tightened the skin and then left the case in my hot car... in direct sunlight!... for several hours.  The skin on it was torn in four places and there was a huge blister-like lesion (about 5 inches across) on it!  In the dream I took it rather well, only complaining that I couldn't afford a new drum head and the one I had had such a special autograph on it that I didn't want to.

If I'd had the energy I would have jumped out of bed right then to check on it.  Later in the morning, I did, with a little terrified flutter in my stomach...

(BTW Where's the rest of jackhammer's dream?)

    Re: GBS dreams?

This one is a little weird.

I went to a Great Big Sea concert and tried to meet the guys and Alan had a sore throat so he couldn't stay. So I to hotel that looked like my house and Alan was in the laundry room and still had a sore throat and he was staying there. I did talk to him a little bit.

    Re: GBS dreams?

Wow, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who dreams of GBS! My dream was in a small 2 story house and I was hanging out with Murray for a bit until everyone else arrived.  When everyone was there Alan broke out the Guinness and we all just chatted.  I kept getting interrupted so I couldn't sing with Alan, which was really a blessing because I absolutely cannot sing worth a lick.  I woke up feeling satisfied being able to "hang out" with the b'ys as if I knew them.  It was cool.

    Re: GBS dreams?

I’ve had a couple of weird GBS dreams, this week. Lots of stress at work usually makes me have weird dreams.

Dream #1 : I’m driving down a snowy highway. A snowplow is quickly gaining speed behind my car. I fear being run over by the snowplow, and  turn down a side road which leads me to a small desert town. In this desert town, I find the lads of GBS recording a song with Ray Lamontagne. There was an oil rig down the road at which Ray worked, and the song was about working there. (Maybe this part of the dream was influenced by the Ron Hynes’ “Altantic Blue?”)

The song sounded great, though. Oh, and Sean was playing the fiddle on the track.

Dream #2: Bob was on a panel of the investigators researching the plane crash into the Hudson River. He was giving a panel speech on why birds fly into aircraft engines.
