    new t-shirt style

Would like to put in a suggestion for another girls/women's style GBS t-shirt.. something for women but other than the tank top..  For some examples, if you go to the Collective Soul web site they have some really cool 2 colour short sleeve women's shirts with the band logo on them.  Cool
    happy trails,

A new girls/women's GBS t-shirt would be really cool.  I definitely second that suggestion.

An actual T shirt for women would  be great....long sleeved preferably.. but tank tops are not exactly modest.

    Re: new t-shirt style

Sigh.  Singing I'm dreaming of a new GBS t-shirt

One that would fit a woman of "substance"

    Not just a big, guy's T-shirt

Something with a bit o' flirt

but large enough to span the rack

I'm dreaming of a scoop neck GBS t-shirt

So I don't like like I'm wearing my husbands

A little bit of sleeve at least so

I could wear a bra with it cause you know

    Re: new t-shirt style

Yes please, a new t-shirt style for us ladies. Hopefully with a "V" neck. I feel like I'm getting strangled with a high t-shirt neck.

    V neck

    Scoop neck

    Crew neck

I'd love a mock turtle neck too.

    Re: new t-shirt style

Good Gods yes! More womens' styles and SIZES! I don't have a single GBS tee I can wear; I don't want to wear a big guy's shirt, and I can't stand high necks, but I don't wear tank tops either...which doesn't matter b/c none of them come in bigger size I can actually fit in anyway! And  I second the black! I *hate* wearing pastels or white. So yes please, women's fit shirts with a little sleeve that will fit us women of substance! :)

    Re: new t-shirt style

I bought a tank at the show in Albany, but of course now it's not tank weather anymore, so I vote for more girly style t's, too!

Cap sleeve is flattering on everyone, round or scoop neck is always good.  Any color but white is good!

    Re: new t-shirt style

Actually, the red v-neck tee shirt with The Hard and The Easy on the front is cut for women...you can tell when you hold it up....However, order at least two sizes bigger than you want...I was luckily warned by Kim and Ron from Merch Monkey they small...wicked small!  but it's a great shirt...

    Re: new t-shirt style

That's a great shirt Nud's.  Unfortunately being of the large size, this style doesn't come big enough for me.  Maybe once we've finished yapping about styles someone could shoot the merch peeps about our requests.  merch@merchmonkey.com

Yeah, me neither! The extra large fit my friend Al, and she's probably only a size 8

    Re: new t-shirt style

Here is a draft of the e-mail I have composed to send to merchmonkey-submitted for critique, since I dont' want to speak for all of us, if I miss the mark.  I'm going for tongue in cheeky-funny but making a point, let me know what you think before I hit send!

    Hello, Merch Monkey!

In response to a thread that is building momentum in the Online Kitchen Party of the GBS website, I thought I'd drop you a line.  It has been my observation that a significant chunk of Great Big Sea fans are women.  And a significant chunk of them are, well, chunky. ( I can get away with that, because I'm one of them).  As much as a performer might hope or dream that the majority of his female fans are sweet nubile young things, the reality is that many of us are over 35, and/or 16+.

When those of us who fit that demographic are standing at a GBS merch. table, dollars in hand, we are faced with a choice.  Trying to wedge the ampleness into the teeny tiny little things offered as women's T-shirts (creating the dreaded uniboob) or wearing a guys T-shirt.  We are rising up as one and saying "No more!" to wearing guys T-shirts!!  What we need, nay what we demand, is a plus sized women's t-shirt, with a scoop or V-neck, with at least a little bit of sleeve, if not a long sleeve.  (and darker colours would be nice too!)

We love GBS.  We love merchmonkey.  We want to spread the GBS love to the world, via a message or logo on our ample chests.  For that, we need the right T-shirt.  I leave it in your capable merchandising hands.

                                                    Respectfully, Sharon R***.

    Re: new t-shirt style

That works for me Sharn!  And I was gonna send them this...

    I have Great Big boobs

    And I'd like to say

    Those teeny tiny tanks

    There just ain't no way

To squish 'em and squash 'em

    Into that tight T

    Please make me a shirt

    That I can proudly say

    I have Great Big Boobs

I'm a GREAT BIG SEA fan

    And I'm here to stay!

    Re: new t-shirt style

This thread certainly HAS gained momentum since last night.  I am thinking the same as almost everyone else.  It would be nice if the shirts were sized as in the real world, where a medium is a medium, not an extra large!  I have often wondered as I stand there buying my 'extra large' t shirt, how anyone bigger than myself can wear anything there, besides men's shirts, which are usually not flattering.  As well, I am a fan of the v-neck and was pleased with the red hard the easy shirts, tho still sized small.  Cap sleeves are okay too, but sometimes they can be a bit tight.  Oh as well, while we're making our wish lists, can we have a bit of length as well?  Some of us with c-section tummies and a few extra pounds, don't like our shirts riding up to our rib cages because we raise our arms to clap! Or riding up our backs when we sit down somewhere!
Some people shine like a star in the first moment. Others keep their light hidden until they are ready to show us.
