    Photography

This is my last thread for tonight here, I swear! LOL!

Figured there's lots of folks here who love to take pictures, maybe some for art's sake! I'm not much of a photographer, but I love taking photos of things that strike me...some more artistic than others, some just for irony or amusement. :)

These two are going to be part of a little PhotoJournal of the American South, so to speak. Stick out tongue Both were taken last weekend in the town of Canton, Georgia, USA.

    Accordion Revolution!

Pint of Guinness and accordion, Erin's Pub, Water Street, St. John's.

This is probably the artsy pic I took in NL that I'm most proud of. It was taken near a fence, on a dock in St. John's that I probably was not allowed to be on. The barbed wire against the cold gray sky Newfoundland sky and rugged landscape struck me to the core, first on a level of humanity trying to control and protect itself from nature, then on local level...The "cage" some Newfoundlanders feel the island has been put in by confederation, the barbs being the pain and hardship they've endured...I don't have an opinion either way on confederation, but I felt it was a striking image coming from that standpoint.

    St. John's Harbour, NL

Another artsy one in the same place, involving Canada (see the maple leaf?) and Newfoundland...

I stopped shooting photos almost 10 years ago, and just started again with a digital camera.  It sure is different from analog!

    Re: Photography

I'm FINALLY getting a chance to look at everyone's stuff, after dumping mine on here and running.  (Crazy week, don't ask!)

Wow, what a bunch of talented photographers we've got here!  Very cool to see what people are doing, what they see when they're out and in "the mode," as my husband calls it.

Teddy, I especially like your shot of the blue moon.  I made it one of my favorites on flickr.  I just joined, so I don't have much stuff up, but I took a look at your things and saw some great shots!  Hey, everybody, go check out Teddy's flickr photos!

To The Nines, I love the shot of Inner Harbor.  That's gorgeous!  And I want to dive into that pond in Oregon.  Really great light in that shot.

Bran, I love the Captain Parker + maple leaf shot.  Looks like something I would shoot.  So does the Biskit Barn.  I'm always finding funny things like that, usually when I don't have the camera in hand.

Columbine, I LOVE the rusty doors at George's Island.  But then again, I like anything rusty.  I love decay.  Does that make me weird?

tofee35, that is indeed a great shot.  Love the light on the water.

Ok, flutey, get those pics loaded somewhere so we can enjoy them!!!

    Lovely Nancy

We went kayak shopping a few weeks ago.  The colors were so great, I had to take some pics.

It's entropy you see that turns finess into mess
     A palace to a pig-stye why it's simply scandalous!
Energy once neat degenerates into waste heat (We must repeat.)
     Because of entropy!
