I have dabbled in all kinds of crafts: quilting, cross-stitch, sewing . . . but scrapbooking is my current favorite. In fact, I just got home from a little road trip to a couple of craft/scrapbook stores and am now $50 poorer.  How does that happen?  It sure doesn't seem like I am spending that much when the items are in my cart/basket!

On the glitter topic . . .  I am a teacher and my glitter is kept in a locked cabinet at school.  I hate the stuff!!!

    Diana,

Worse than glitter is  goldleaf. It's horrid...but pretty.

I was updating my website when I came across this page. It's my daughter Karen's project that ended up being autographed by Alan, Bob, Danny, Darrell , Sean and Tony. It was made during the Sea of No Cares era.

For all you crafty types, here is a site that I found so you can sell your wares.  It's kinda like ebay, 'cept it's for homemade stuff.

    Re: Craftypants! :)

about a year or two ago i bought some old flat/silverware. my intention was to bend and mold the various pieces into a spiffy jewelry holder. i have seen them done, but now that the time is upon me to do it, i have no idea what to do! i have searched, but cannot dfind anything online that has instructinos, or a guide to look at. if anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated!

    thanks a bunch.

    Re: Craftypants! :)

have people thrown away their crafty pants? or maybe everyone just cut them up and decoupaged them on to a lamp or something.

    anyhoo...

mom and i made a baby quilt, and i thought it turned out rather well. there were some moments where we had questions about how well it would look, but after we (by we, i mean she) quilted everything down it was sooo cute!!

my mom's the real genius here, we agreed on the design and i picked out the fabric, and decided on the sun bonet sues, but my darling mother sewed everything. the only thing i actually did was draw the duck food, grass, and swirly on the flower. and i wrote the tag on the back.

the quilt is for my orchestra teacher, and his wife. she is an equestrian nut, hence the ponies. its hard to see in this picture, but the black and white blocks are sheet music checkered with b&w flowers. the back is a single piece of the music print.

and don't mind my goof ball dad.

That is BEAUTIFUL, Paula! How long did it take to make that?

I never knew this thread was up here . . . I occasionally decoupage my notebooks. Matter of fact, will probably be doing on this week, as I am buying a new Moleskine and it's a ritual of mine to decorate every new Moleskine :)

And I love people who love Moleskine journals :) Or even just know what they are ;)

    Have you ever seen moleskinerie.com

Here are my two so far -

No idea yet what #3 will look like. It's the one I'm taking to Newfoundland, though; maybe I should wait till I get some local souvenir items that I can decoupage on.

    Re: Craftypants! :)

Wow you all are crafty...  I knit...do some dishcloths with some sort of pattern on them like Lighhouses and stuff. When I was younger with smaller kids I knit dresses and skirts for them.  Sewed dresses also.  I have one craft that I do once a year.  It's called Pysanky....Ukrainian Easter Eggs.  I was taughted some years ago by my hubbies Aunt.  Then picked it up again once my kids got old enough to do them. It's like doing batik on clothing, but on an egg.  I usually hold an Easter Egg party, it's a potluck and it's amazing some of the eggs that the gals have done that attend.  I also got into that plastic canvas needlework & those plastic strips that you could melt in hot water then mold into shapes...did a lot of earrings.  HA...I don't think you can buy those anymore.  So much for my craftiness.Music Oh and in the spare time...I play guitar.

Those are gorgeous and hard to do. I used to work on them with my Uncle Mike.  I loved doing them but can never "blow out" the eggs without breaking them. I'd love to see some of your work if you care to share.
