Couldnt agree more Helen :) I think if, heaven forbid, they ever retire he has a real future as an author. I love his writing style. and just have to say "Mac Daddy"??????
There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”

Re: Alan's From The Road!
In the video, Alan looked just as "giddy" as I did when I met him on the street in DC last April. LOL! Robin

I'm fully with you, Binny ... I said the same thing to my friend Kati just recently. And: "No Alan, you don't bore us with sharing your great moments!". But I'm sure, I'm not the only one waiting for some words about the Ships'n Dips (or did I miss anything?) ? This cruise seemed to be such a wonderful time apparently - for everybody. There must be some stories to tell, no? Cheers ... Christina

Maybe what happens on the cruise stays on the cruise!

Re: Alan's From The Road!
LOL. Or, as Tyler said, you never know what's gonna happen on the cruise-ah. Alan was everywhere, talked to everyone and had his picture taken about 4000 times, so we could all pull together and write a cruise entry for him, collectively tell the totally untrue history of Alan Doyle on the cruise ship, with tall tales and a dash of truth thrown in here and there for effect--in the spirit of GBS stage banter.
A collective 'totally untrue' FTR by ghost writing cruisers could be totally spectacu...later dude!

That is a great idea! I have a few gems to add. We could play a medly of the YouTube videos in the background

Lol - there's probably so much actual fodder for that video that you wouldn't need to invent a whole lot - lol. Great idea though... Will have to look through my stuff and see what good cruise pix I have.

I love this idea Tina ... LoL ... I am curiously tracking all your great pics, vids and stories from the cruise anyways. But still, I would love to hear some thoughts about "living amongst a big bunch of great music lovers for a week" from the artists perspective ... maybe not about what happened but more about how it felt. Cheers ... Christina

Re: Alan's From The Road!
Oh, I liked your post ending before you edited, Christina! And, see, that's the only problem with writing such I deliciously funny fictional account for Alan. I would do all my laughing before the edit. 'Course we would have to edit cleverly and massively. LOL.

Re: Alan's From The Road!
Tina ... do you want me to delete the
"...t about what happened but more about how it felt." part again ... ??? That actually didn't happen on purpose, I somehow clicked the post button in the middle of the sentence (coincidence?) ... but now you say it, it really makes me laugh. Ohhh - I can already picture the prospective writing sessions ... LoL Cheers ... Christina

Re: Alan's From The Road!
When I saw your original post I read it as: "But still, I would love to hear some thoughts about 'living amongst a big bunch of great music lovers for a week' from the artists perspective...not"
That totally cracked me up! This is the seed of a funny idea. We'd just put all those pictures in a certain order, look at his expressions in all of them, then 'peer into his mind' and glean what he's thinking based on the pictures, fan experiences and emotions... *shudder*. Actually Christine this is starting to sound like a blog I came across. There's an Alan fan out there who does this already, and she does it earnestly without a shred of humor. LOL. Perhaps we'll wait and let Alan speak for himself! Poor guy.

Sounds scary ... I hope you don't intend to post a link here ... I know that I would look it up for plain curiosity reasons ... and I'm afraid it could really disturb me. But I still fancy your funny version ... Poor guy? Ha! What do you mean??? Cheers ... Christina

Re: Alan's From The Road!
I don't have a link so no worries. A funny version would be hilarious! ...especially with the OKP's creative minds put to the task. Imagine if we used that jibjab.com technology where the mouth 'talks' in the photo...with hilarious voices...LOL! By 'poor guy' I mean obviously Alan is conserving cash. He was bare foot on the cruise for heaven's sake.
AWFULLY cold up north without footwear. Poor guy. (Hahaha!!!) Okay...your turn.

Re: Alan's From The Road!
Aha - this kind of poverty you mean ... LoL ... Like having to drink beer because you can't afford water (that's how it is in Germany really: in a bar or a restaurant the beer is actually cheaper than mineral water) and having no home so you have to live on a bus with nine or ten guys??? Do I have to start being worried?
