Well
bodhranman after much practice, and closer review of the DVD with pause, rewind, play , repeat.
(and a stack of chord charts I printed off the net)
...I have concluded the myserious !* chord is not used by Alan.
(and I just could not get it to sound right to my ear).
Here's a slightly modified version of your tab.
Try em both with the DVD and see if I'm close? ;-)
Tickle Cove PondIn (G)cuttin and haulin' in (D) frost and in snow (Dsus4)
we're (Cadd9) up against troubles that (D) few people know (Dsus4)

I know its not perfect,I'm a n00bie remember ;-)
...never tab'd a song before.
the bass line on the CD throws me off a bit
because it sometimes sounds like there is one more chord just before
(or just after) the Caddd9 before returning to D.
It may be as simple as alternating the bass string on the Cadd9 chord,
by hitting the A string on the first strum, and skipping the A and
hitting the D string 1st on the second strum.

Maybe thats where the !* goes?
