I just have to use this opportunity to say: I am only 15 short days away from graduation. That's 6 more days of school, 2 days of weekend and a week of exams. And no, I'm not excited at all. Big Smile

In other news: I need a rant topic for my philosophy class. I need to talk about something interesting enough that it will continue for five minutes without putting me to sleep... I don't care about my class mates.

    Re: The George Street Café

Congratulations, Delaney!  I'm so excited for you!  What are you going to do after you graduate?  As for the rant topic, I had to give an "angry speech" in college for oral comm and I did it on parents who don't pay attention to their kids.  I talked a bit about how much I hated working retail and having children run amok and destroy stuff while their parents shopped cluelessly on.  Then I moved on to the parents who let their children wander off in a big store and weren't even concerned when they realized they were gone.  Once we had a guy who had several children with him (all of whom he was completely ignoring) and the youngest one was maybe 3 or 4.  She wandered away from him, wandered all over the store by herself, and was found by an employee wandering around the parking lot!  The employee brought her back into the store, found her father, and told him what had happened.  The father just said, "Oh, ok" and went back to shopping!  He didn't seem to care that his little girl could have been stolen or run over or whatever!  (Can you tell this was an easy topic for me to get fired up about? lol)

    So, how is everyone?

Just in case anyone has heard about the big fires in the Halifax area and is worried, I wanted to let you know that both Tina and I are safe.  She's safe in town and I'm a fair distance away from the "hot spot"  Honey lives in town and so is far away from the danger zone.

High winds are complicating the fire fighting efforts, so they keep changing the status from contained to out of control and back to contained again-last I heard is that they are evacuating more neighbourhoods and there are some houses destroyed, but for the time being, knock wood, I'm safe in my little salt box in Musquodoboit Harbour.

I'm listening to continual updates online at 95.7 news talk radio if anyone is interested.

    Re: The George Street Café

In a word? BUSY! lol!  That new job has taken up more time than I'd like to count.  Kids, job, life....

I'm on my way to NFLD, though!  WOOOT!  It's my 40th b'day present from my wonderful hubby, gotta luv 'im.  We're leaving Wpg on Thursday & with some luck we'll be in St. John's by midnight.  We're travelling with Buddy Passes thanks to my lovely cousin.  We only have 7 days, but we're gonna make the best of 'em!

What've you been up to?  How're things in NS?  How's the fam?

    Re: The George Street Café

The family is growing (up, not in quantity, don't panic) I love NS fiercly, I've been busy as can be, with two jobs and a booming Tupperware business.  Started again in March, thought I'd just do a party or two a month, have been booking at least one if not two a week and am booking into late August already, cause my book is full up. Made manager in my first 10 weeks.  I'm also still cantoring at my church, sitting on Parish council and heading up catechetics.  So ya, most often when I'm at home, I'm asleep.  lol!  Still manage to waste way too much time on the computer tho.  Evil time sucking box.  Wish I could join you in NFLD, maybe we'll get there NEXT summer!

    Re: The George Street Café

Good to hear you're doing well!  It's certainly been awhile.

Many of the old crew hang around here much of late? I took a look back in the thread, but not very far.  Far enough to see your hotty self in a grad pic, though.  lol!  You don't look very punk for that particular event.  Give us one of those pics.  Stick out tongue

    Re: The George Street Café

The last few times I've tried to get onto The Fishtank, a window pops up saying it doesn't exist!  Sad  Does anyone know anything about that?

In other news, I'm stuck at work for another two and a half hours and there's nothing to do.  And yet I still have to be here because...because...I have no idea.  I just keep thinking of all the stuff I have to do after work but can't actually do any of it until 3:30.  I'm so unbelievably bored.

    Bekah,

They are having server problems. All the boards on this server are experiencing the same problems. We have to be patient. Lynne is on top of it, so I have heard.

@ daydream believer.  Virtually no pictures from that time period exist.  I was ere the photographer, never the subject.
