Re: Has 'Something Beautiful' happened to you today?

Winnipeg currently has 7 Zellers stores, I just looked it up in the phone book to be sure. I think we used to have more, but a few of them closed...or maybe they just moved a couple of them.

One of my early memories is my mum taking me shopping at Zellers. I wasn't really keeping an eye on my mum, I was watching my feet and I reached up and grabbed a stranger's hand. Red Face I was so shocked and embarrassed that I cried. I was about 3 at the time.

I always try to shop at Zellers over Walmart, but I do agree that the clothes are usually cheeper at Walmart.

Well said Sharn! I too, am in my late 30s, have a c-section scar and a few too many pounds and my honey loves me just the way I am and treats me like a princess! Having him in my life is truly something beautiful. I only wish all women were so lucky.

    Cheers, Mom!

Re: Has 'Something Beautiful' happened to you today?

Here's to all the girls out there who are loved for who they are! beer Cheers! You also bring up again, another truly beautiful thing Lisa, and that is the love of a parent for a child! Others have mentioned it before in this thread and all those little ones out there are SB! I hope your little one gets well soon Lisa! I'd rather be poked in the eye with a spike than to see a little one sick. It happens all too frequently in this house with my daughter having asthma. I guess that's why I work in Geriatrics rather than Pediatrics.

    Cheers, Mom!

I had to take the day off work because of a migraine headache. It's finally gone though, so that's something beautiful.

Migraines, been there done that! I'm thankful to say mine are almost nonexistant now. I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy! Having one go away is definitely something beautiful!

Re: Has 'Something Beautiful' happened to you today?

My poor little kitty's been driving me nuts
He's sweet as can be but a terrible klutz
He claws himself bloody he itches so bad
So we went to the vet to find out what he had

He hasn't got mites and he hasn't got fleas
It's not ringworm or acne or food allergies
So she gave me some capsules to squeeze o'er his food
The vitamins in them should do him some good

Well, he ran for the dish and he wolfed it down quick
And then the food bowl he proceeded to lick
What could be in these capsules? This isn't a Doyle* -
The vet sent my cat home with cod liver oil!

I was very relieved about 11 years back to finaly figure out what the trigger is for my migraines! Dehydration. So as long as I drink enough water each day, I'm usually migraine free! Glad you got rid of yours Sandy! Smile Those really suck!

I am another one lucky enough to finaly find someone who loves me just the way I am...even with all my little quirks! Cheers! "I wish that I knew what I know now
    when I was younger!" Wink

Columbine and Helen, you are both so talented and funny. My something beautiful is you two. Your poems made me laugh and even though I don't need the laugh I still love to laugh!!

I also have a man in my life that is SB. I was skinny when I met him but no longer is that true. I'm kind a few pounds heavier now but he says it's just more of me to love!! He also puts up with my family and believe you me that can be very challenging at times!!

Re: Has 'Something Beautiful' happened to you today?

I have several triggers for migraines but the main one being the weather. I have a barometer in me head, so when the weather is changing, I get a migraine.

My beautiful thing for today was a perfect cup of coffee from Tim's. Yeah, I know they make good coffee on a regular basis, but this was perfect. A superb cupa java!

My migraines were hormonal in nature, so some major female type surgery has now had the added benefit of getting rid of those dreadful headaches! I still get the odd one if I'm too stressed out, but if that happens I try to remember that "stressed" spelled backwards is "desserts" and desserts are something beautiful!

As for the perfect cupa java, I'm just finishing a little brown jug from Tim's right now and it to was something beautiful. Life is too short not to see the beauty in something even as ordinary as a good cup of coffee.

    Cheers, Joyce!
