I totally understand what you mean too. My sister is also the beauty in the family and was very popular in high school because of it. She was pretty with long legs and blonde hair!! All the guys wanted to be with her and most guys wouldn't even give me the time of day. I've always had the brains too. I told my sister once though that I used to wish I was like her and she was shocked because she said that she has always wanted to be more like me because of how smart I am and how everyone respects me because they all know I'm a good person. Its funny how things work out though. I wouldn't trade my life for hers now for sure. At least I have a good life with a man who adores me. She doesn't have a terrible life and she has a wonderful little boy but she hasn't done anything with her life and she hasn't even graduated high school yet!! Nope, I am grateful for the way my life worked out for me.

Joining this one a little late, but ....

I remember when Alex coined the Alanophile phrase and i never did really like it...no matter how much respect I had for Alex, that one just irked me! However, I most definitely fall into that category, whatever we call it.

I'm up for a new nickname if anyone has something that doesn't end in phile.

Alanite is ok, but it sort-of encroaches on Bobite Territory! and we don't want to go there!

Any ideas?

Geology is like a hobby to me! I LOVE IT!!! One of the reasons I moved out west cause I like erosion....

So back to Alanite as being some kind of classification of ROCK....think about it....he does have his own classification of ROCK!

Or, Andi and Helen, c'mon down here in Feb for the Gem & Mineral show. Frickin' amazing. Lots of rocks...of many types. And the weather here at that time of year isn't usually too hard to take, either... The golf tournament is usually the week AFTER the show (a 2-week event), and they don't schedule those in places with crummy weather! And the Rodeo, too. Feb. here is not too hard to take. Not even hot, yet Of course, you can't hardly FIND a hotel room, so you'd be forced to stay with a fellow "tank'er"....
