Re: If Bob Fans are called Bobites ...
Thanks for the positive reinforcement guys........I have so never posted on anything until i got this compelling feeling that I had to start posting on the b'ys website after seeing two concerts this summer.......back to back.......First Freeport (which is like 30 min from my house) then NorthHampton (which is 4 hours from my house). I am truly addicted and hope to make some new friends and meet people at a concert soon.

AnneInPhilly: Fran I still can't get the outtakes or all the podcasts either. Anne
This may sound wrong but, YAY it's not just me! I had never done online chatting or message boards in any way, shape or form before I joined here a few months ago. And now I can't control myself.

Re: If Bob Fans are called Bobites ...
I got all of the podcasts but had to go through ITunes....could not get them on the GBS website......had to subscribe but it was free so what the heck it was just a few minute investment for a huge payback.......all of those lovely podcasts especially love hearing Bob's accent. Just Lovely, melting now......playing them on the ipod via speakers.

Ahh, Marla! you know what to say in the bob thread! Yeah, I love to listen to him speak, too, when he doesn't mumble! DO you have the Great Big DVD? There's a whole interview with Bob in his kitchen. Lovely! Anne

Re: If Bob Fans are called Bobites ...
I was part of a Hanson board a few years back and I loved it, but eventually people there became too concerned with the boys' private lives and I had to stop going there. I was also a member on Michael Rosenbaum's official website, and I think I still am, but the people there didn't really seem to pay much attention to me (well, one person did - she was really nice, but for the most part I felt like nobody noticed me). AnneInPhilly: DO you have the Great Big DVD? There's a whole interview with Bob in his kitchen. Lovely!

Re: If Bob Fans are called Bobites ...
Anne, I do have the DVD and watch the Bob interview on a regular basis. I also love the fact that his dog is running around in the back yard. My friend and I (my best friend ever because she turned me on to GBS )went to the show in North Hampton this summer and she made the ultimate sacrifice. We were right on the front of the stage in front of BOB, I still have not recovered!!! She is a Sean fan so............we parked it right in front of BOB, we got guitar picks at the end of the night it was great!!!!

I guess she's figured out stage Bob is not too shabby for watching Sean though. Hard to get good Sean photos in front of him Stage Bob is good for Sean photos. Just keep telling her that. LOL! I love the hyperactive dog, too! Anne

Re: If Bob Fans are called Bobites ...
Heehee. Last concert, my friend and I were at Stage Bob. We renamed it to Stage Dimple. PERFECT view of Le Dimple. (Although, gotta say, I split my ogling between the dimple and the Bob. Bob has a very interesting kind of hotness, I must say. It sneaks up on you - you take a look, and then you need to take another, and another, and another . . . .) ETA: Marla, I saw a post of yours today in some thread and was summoned away before I could respond - it would be AWESOME to see another concert together! I'll join you at Stage Dimple/Bob :)

It shouldn't be hard to get her to go for it. I learned that stage Sean is not a good place to get photos of Sean unless you like him with a microphone up his nose (I don't know what her fetishes are) but I just can't resist being close enough to touch. Couldn't get good Bob photos from there either. Sun & lighting played havoc with the shadows on him at both concerts and most my photos were dark. (Maybe he likes it that way, he can retreat into the shadows knowing your all there lusting after him...close enough to touch). Excellent place for Alan photos though. I couldn't tell you what Bob was talking about on that DVD, that doggy was too distracting. My university film teacher would say that it was most definately NOT a good Mise en Scene (unless the dog was the point of what he was talking about).

*violent shudder* I remember all too well learning about Mise en Scene in my Cinema class. I cetainly hope your teacher was better than mine. Well, she wasn't really bad, I guess. I did learn a lot, I got to watch some filmsthat I may never have seen otherwise and I started making a list of movies that I wanted t watch if I ever had the time, but the teacher's personality was sometimes grating.

Re: If Bob Fans are called Bobites ...
Mine was really entertaining. He talked through clenched teach with a really hoity-toity MA accent. HE was great fun. Students loved making fun of him and he didn't mind one bit. Very intelligent man too with a specialty in opera. We spent friday classes watching films, Citizen Kane, Seventh Seal, Great Dictator. Or watching clips like the Odessa Steps sequence in Battleship Potemkin.

Re: If Bob Fans are called Bobites ...
One of the things I really didn't like was, she was one of those teachers who would start class two minutes early then chew you out if you got there one minute late (or even right on time). I can't tell you how many times we heard her "You guys are gonna have to try a lot harder to get here on time" speech" But I love being a member of that crazy, geeky pop culture group that hears things like "I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille (sp?)" and actually knows where that phrase came from. I remember, right after we watched Citizen Kane (and I mean like THE DAY AFTER) I was watching the Simpsons and they had a spinoff of the movie where Mr. Burns is laying in bed thinking about his lost teddy bear, then he drops a snowglobe on the floor and we see Mr. Smithers's reflection in the brokenn glass. I laughed my butt off.

Re: If Bob Fans are called Bobites ...
I had never seen Citizen Kane before and mentioned before the movie started in class about Rosebud being the sled. I apparently ruined it for a few people. I thought it was common knowledge, a movie trivia thing that everyone knew, I've known since I could read. There was a Peanuts strip about it. Dr. London Green was his name (could you get a better theatre name than that?). He loved to talk while staring out into space and many 1st year students figured he was so busy yakking that he wasn't paying attention. You have no idea how many times he would suddenly yell "So&So Shut UP" in the middle of a sentence and never miss a beat. He was an amazing gentleman, always kept us well entertained. (Don't read the following if you're squeemish) He directed a play I was in, a modern British mess entitled Top Girls, and one scene had a 12 year old reaching into her pants and pulling out fingers covered in blood and then licking it. We were all horrified by this scene and could not see how we could bring ourselves to do it on stage. Rehearsals began and he didn't like the way the actress was doing it so he got on his knees and acted it out for us. We nearly killed ourselves laughing and were never again squeemish about it (except opening night, what would our parents think?)

*squeam* *squeam* *squeamsqueam* I am quite squeamish. I can barely even put in my own earrings without getting sick! (I'll bet Bob could help me with that!)
