Have you been to te FishyThread lately, Sharn?  We Bobites are still a few laps behind the ShantyFans in the race to get our posts censored!  I read three or four pages worth of posts there the other day and I had to wipe off my glasses six times what with all the steam building up in that thread!

I'm embarassed to say how long it took me to think of a response to Horatia's straw post that was unquestionably dirty but that I could plausibly claim was perfectly innocent.  (Me -----> )

Regardless though, I've always liked the random discussion and thread creep that has, from the start, been what set the Bob threads apart from the Shanty and Alan threads.  It's why I've always posted in them even while avoiding the Here fishy, fishy and King Alan threads like the plague (and even while my favorite band member isn't Bob). So I think I'll bow out of this one while I still find it humourous. 

I'll just have to find somewhere else to post Bob pics!

OK, can a more established Bobite tell me why it feels extra-extra wrong to be dirty about Bob? I feel only mildly perverted talking this way about Alan, being dirty about Sean actually seems like the polite thing to do, but Bob . . . goodness, this thread would have made me blush, if I had any shame left.

I don't think it should feel any different to talk "dirty" about Bob.  My personal opinion is that Bob's exploits could put the other lads to shame... we just don't see or hear about it. 

But I also just don't get drool threads.  Which is why I've always enjoyed the Bob threads which have tended toward everything discussions with bits of appreciation thrown in for fun.  *shrugs* Call me odd... I won't deny it.  I've certainly said similar things and participated in my own ribald discussions and comments.  It's the idea of an entire thread that ONLY has that or that focuses on that that boggles me.

So... go ahead...  have fun fiddling with the accordionist.

Well, it isn't ONLY for drooling; there is SOME talk of their non-physical attributes there. But even if it were, so what? No one thinks anything of giggling about this sort of thing in person, why not online? Besides, it's fun and funny - in part, BECAUSE these guys don't really cultivate the heart-throb image. I doubt any of us are being really serious in our raunchier posts. I dunno, I find it amusing and harmless. We all have a little teenybopper in us, I think; we just happen to choose to use it on GBS rather than, say, Justin Timberlake :)

OMB just the thought of mentioning Justin Timberlake and Bob in the same sentence is making my stomach queasy!  Yucky!!

The fact that we KNOW there are great stories in Bob's life that we haven't heard is I think what makes it seem a little wrong to be so drool-y and lecherous about him...

But I have to admit, I'm only willing to objectify the by's just so much, and then I have to let it go.  I mean, I try not to say anything that I couldn't stand hearing someone say about me, since they're real people with families and everything...
