This is from the songwriter panel on Ships n Dip V.
This pic makes me want to run my fingers through his hair.

Verrrrry nice ! Thanks Shoebox, that's a gorgeous photo. I like Alan's beard (sometimes), but I love the clean-shaven look even more. He has such a handsome & expressive face, and the beard seems to hide it too much. Shoebox, you had some beautiful photos from the Ships & Dip shows. It was quite a surprise to see Alan playing the accordion ! Also there were a couple of mouthwatering shots of Alan standing at the mic with his Les Paul, in front of Kris... "sweet dreams are made of these " Looking back over the Fortunes Favour Tour, it's been quite a variety of experiences for the band and the audiences... Hawksley's creative influences, the "secret" shows, the album's debut which was celebrated with the Canada AM folks and a small group of GBS fans, then the many tour dates in the small venues & big hockey rinks, and the Junos ... then Alan's leave of absence to film with Russell Crowe in the Robin Hood movie, and the amazing success of the Daffodil Place fundraising, back to the tour again in Canada & the US, and all of Alan's & Sean's & Bob's blog posts and interviews too. Through it all, the guys have been energetic, witty & entertaining, and they really seem to be enjoying themselves when they're performing. It's been quite a ride ! Looking forward to more adventures with the next album. Cheers

As this thread has stalled, we are pleased to bring back the questions. First the old ones: Loulabelle:and now for more questions... If Alan were a mixed drink, what would the ingredients be? If Alan were a god of any pantheon which would he be? If Alan were a musical insturment what would he be? That's all for now... pics to come after Nov.18th and 20th concerts. Peace, Love and GBS, Loula
And now three new ones: If Alan were a plant, would plant would he be? If Alan were a piece of clothing, what would he be? If Alan were an international destination, what one would he be? My answers are: Plant: He would be the flower- a forget me not- cause he's unforgettable. Clothing: Imagine the most comfortable pair of leather pants. In black. That would be Alan. International Destination: Ireland. It just seems like a fun place to be, and there are a lot of pubs there. And we know that Alan and pubs go together.

I've always been terrible at this sort of thing, but I'm going to give it a shot anyway. As for a god from any pantheon, I think I'd go with Pan, which I'm pretty sure somebody said already, but I've got to agree with. Alan as a plant...I have to admit that my first thought was just of Alan with bark for skin and leaves for hair, which, as I'm sure you can imagine, was incredibly strange. I think he'd definitely be a tree of some sort. I'm leaning towards weeping willow though just because of his long hair. (They're also my favorite kind of tree, so I'm biased ) That's all I've got for now. I told you I'm terrible at this!

Plant: A big showy Chinese Chrysanthemum, cause Alan likes to be noticed.
Place: Seattle, the clean air the great music scene and the sky the rocks and sea. Clothing: I'd have to second Krista's black leather pants idea. Because well damn these are hot:
Who took this? Anyone know?

Thanks Andi! I really do try to credit photos when I can. For instance this ridiculously awesome shot by Kim:
That shot is beyond incredible! I hope Alan has seen this shot! If not he should!
