At the Atlantic City show in march they did Rocks of Merasheen for the first time, live.  Sean sang - and it was incredible! (I wasn't there, but a friend sent me a recording of it)

It certainly was incredible and I'm hoping to hear it live again and again this summer.!

Beautiful, beautiful song. In fact, so touching and so beautiful that it's hard listening to it more than a couple of times in a row, very emotional. There's something so completely sincere about the way Alan sings it, and I love that it's acapella - makes you focus on the words. Like "It's a parent's right to grieve" - what a striking line.

Ren - same with me.  First time I heard it, it actually made me cry. (sappy I know) but the lyrics and the power in alan's voice just really hit me.  It's a shame it won't be on FF, but at the same time, it's a song that stands alone.  am hoping to hear him do a live version of it.  It gives me chills.

Was just watching the latest webcasts... part 5 & 6... why is it that Alan reminds me a bit of Mike Myers on occasion???  Lol.  Not sure what it is... but I catch a glimpse every so often.

I've really grown to love Belong too.  It is so sincere and poignant.  I love that it's just completely unvarnished -- adds to its power.

Speaking of Alan, it's been a while since we had a FTR.  I know they're not on the road right now, but it would be cool to get a From the Rock.  I miss hearing from Alan.  Reading Alan's FTRs always makes me smile.  His enthusiasm is contagious. 

The best bathroom graffiti EVER can be found in the stalls of graduate pubs in Universities.  When I was an undergrad, I whiled away far too many hours with a group of us and our TA (who legitimatized our being there) at the Phoenix at McMaster.  The stalls were rife with philosophical discussion, political debate, religious diatribe, it was a real education taking a dump in there, lemme tell ya!

Articulation is in the ear of the beholder.  As for Alan's, there's hardly a lovelier sound to be heard, imo. The message is delivered in emotion and growl. For articulation proper, there's some great work being done at the Royal Conservatories nationwide and even Toast Master!  

This is all I know for sure about GBS lyrics and Alan's ability to deliver the goods: for every line of lyric I remember, he remembers roughly a hundred (I say roughly because it's probably more like 450). I admit I stink at lyrics and I have admiration for the one that leads the song, hearty flubs and all.
