    Re: King Alan

I can see him in "Hair"! Possibly in "Taming of a Shrew", "Much Ado About Nothing" and of course, "Kiss Me Kate".....I haven't seen or read enough Shakespear to place him in any roles. In the musical "Once Upon a Mattress"...the Minstrel.

I am so thrilled he's coming to Bremerton in November! It's not quite my home town, but close! It feels almost feels as though I get to introduce my fave band to my community!

    Re: King Alan

Although I detest *Taming of the Shrew*, I *can* see Alan as Petruchio.  I've not seen "Once Upon a Mattress," though.  *Much Ado About Nothing* is my next Shakespeare play to read, though.  Does anyone here like Goldsmith's *She Stoops to Conquer*? Because I can really picture Alan playing Mr. Hardcastle.

    Re: King Alan

God save the King! After reading through all 169 pages of this thread (it took 17 hours over two days) I am now filled with more random facts about the Doyle, and have a nice folder of pics to stare at...mmmmmmmmmLeather pants Drool

But of all the wonderful things about Alan be it personality, hair, eyebrows, eyes, nose, soul patch, elbows (right is waaay sexier), bum, or any part of him, my absolute favorite is the way you can hear the smile in his voice (most evident in the Lukey video and Goin'up) and many other songs, its the way you can HEAR how much fun he's having when he's singing. I LOVE it!

    As for the questions...

Colour: Orange pants colour-- it screams look at me! As he does so well, it also reflects all of Alan's warmth and passion for what he does

Food: Chinese.. an hour later you're hungry for more Big Smile but really Fettuccine Alfredo -- saucy and savory and smooth and scrumptious with just a bit of spice. So good.

Animal: I would agree with puppy or baby ferret cause they bounce so much.

Car: An old electric blue Chevelle Malibu. Don't ask why he just is.

Public Servant: King. I don't know, his music is such a public service I wouldn't want him doing anything else.

Computer: A very user friendly PC that glitches sometimes but always recovers. Wink

    and now for more questions...

If Alan were a mixed drink, what would the ingredients be?

If Alan were a god of any pantheon which would he be?

If Alan were a musical insturment what would he be?

That's all for now... pics to come after Nov.18th and 20th concerts.

    Peace, Love and GBS,

    Loula

    Re: King Alan

A god in the Pantheon? Which Pantheon? I'm assuming Greek/Roman....hard one...Apollo? You know, inventor of musical instruments, nice guy. It's kinda hard because all them god weren't particularly into marriage/monogamy and family....

Would love to say Hermes/Mercury (favourite god and the only one with brains) but that guy is way to crafty and mischieveous and Alan is way nicer :)

    Re: King Alan

Any Pantheon! I would relate him most to the Norse god Thor. God of thunder, law and order. he was known as the "Champion of the people".

Or maybe Pan, God of music and male sexuality. Wink

If Alan were a musical instrument what would he be?

He would be an instrument that would make the most noise out of any on stage; therefore he would be a set of drums, because drums always get everyone's attention!

Wouldn't he be an accordion then? Or bagpipes? Something unique that you can't miss?

    Re: King Alan

    Ok, I'll bite.

Colour: Red - energetic, passionate, warm and spicy
Food: cinnamon - tangy yet somehow comforting
Animal: Panda - cute,Cuddly but I wouldn't want to get him mad
    Car: Panterra
Public Servant: Member of Congress - "Meet me in the village where all the idiots go" Isn't the "village where all the idiots go" the halls of congress? Or maybe parliment since he's Canadian - but I've always had more faith in the CDN Parliment than I have had in the US Congress.
    Computer: Hal

If Alan were a mixed drink, what would the ingredients be? Cranberry and Vodka

If Alan were a god of any pantheon which would he be? Taliesin (celtic) Prince of song, Patron of Druids, Bards and minstrels.

If Alan were a musical insturment what would he be? Flute, light, Airy, playful and if it gets serious I don't want to be around!

      yeah I am weird.

    My Question to add:

If Alan were a Superhero who would he be? ( I'd say Jack Hinks, myself, but not sure if Jack counts Stick out tongue

The one that flies in and saves babies from burning buildings.

This was taken at the Joplin show by someone that wasn't me.  You can tell he's the father of a three year old and how much he misses his wee Henry.

    Long live the King,

    Loula

    Re: King Alan

Loula, that is absolutely adorable! And I think you're right on Alan missing little Henry. He strikes me as one that loves fatherhood, and no doubt this wee one reminds him of Henry at that age!!

Luckily their last show is tonight and then they are home for a month! I'll bet they are looking forward to that!!

I'm sure they are! The picture was too wonderful not to post and this thread needed a bump! It's that little bit of wistfulness behind the smile, it just melts your heart. *sigh*

BTW -- Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who is celebrating this weekend!

    Peace, Love, and GBS,

Just when it seems things have gone (thankfully) quiet on the Alan beard topic ... a little voice from the backseat of my car this morning says, "I think Daddy should get a beard like Alan's." She's not even 3 and yes, she has an opinion.

    ;-)

Yay! Opinions for all! Maybe I've been staring at too many pictures lately but I think I'm getting used to the beard. Krista, Lisa, Andi, someone slap me!

But this is still pretty ... isn't it?

    Not mine!

    More Alan for everyone!

    Loves,

    Loula

    P.S. Answer the questons!

    P. P. S. Krista, your sloganizer reads: "Alan Doyle, pure lust." I've just died laughing.
