I was wondering....

1.What are the chances that GBS would play Sherbrooke,Nova Scotia?

2.If it was one of your dreams to meet GBS how would you do it?

1.  No clue - I'm still trying to get them to come to the Austin TX area.  :)

2.  Are you trying to get tips?  ;)  I'd probably "stalk" the bus after the show...  :)

Yep I'm looking for some tips.I was thinking that Sherbrooke,Nova Scotia has a concert series every summer.Mostly locals play at that.I think it would be cool if GBS could play there for a change.

I didn't try "stalking" them.  :)  I think it would be really interesting to meet them, and they're all hot :)  but I figured they're harassed enough, and probably exhausted after putting on a show so I left 'em alone.

If you have a venue to suggest why not suggest it to Nico or Louis, their manager? You could also suggest it to the organizers of the festival

I hope they're not above playing in a church hall or a high school gym.

They're "above" whatever their label & management contracts say they're "above."  As individuals, they don't get a lot of say in the matter now that they're such big news, and you get to be big news by signing contracts that compromise your personal choices.

Wow, that's the least words I've used yet to describe that phenomenon!

I've found out that the venue I was thinking of has seating for 50 to 80 people.I don't know if the "Great Big Wigs"would even consider it.should I even call them that?

They might do a secret show at a venue that size... but other than that I doubt it.

Hmmmmm maybe they could do that when the next CD comes out.

They've done private gigs in small spaces, but I suspect they ask the same amount of money as for a big hall, since it takes them just as long to get there, set up, play, etc. and they have to pay their crew.  And it would probably be subject to the space's amenability to their light & sound setup.

If you told Alan he was a Great Big Wig, he'd probably do a hair flip to prove you wrong!

The place I'm talking about is an historic site.They have a website and everything!If you just google Sherbrooke Village you should find it.It has lots of pics of the place and info about the concert series.I found out who books the performers for the concerts.Hurrah for living in a small area.You know everyone who lives around there or you know of them.Turns out I know her but I don't know her well enough.

You might be able to pull it off as a sponsored event for charity, where a major business pays most of the expenses in exchange for having their name on the event - e.g., "Thunder River Hydro is proud to present a benefit for Daffodil Place featuring GREAT BIG SEA!  With special guests (TRH CEO's daughter's band, etc.)"

I've asked around and I found out that I probably wouldn't get any sponsers because this is such a small place and it would be to expensive to get GBS down here.I feel so......I just feel like giving up on them and tossing out all my GBS stuff out the door.
