The "ginger guy" is Scott Grimes, familiar to ER fans as Archie Morris, a very red-headed ER doctor.

Thanks for the photos!  But personally, I feel that the earlier gossip column fluff doesn't belong in the OKP.  If Russell Crowe is Alan Doyle's good friend, is it not disrespectful to post stuff like Perez Hilton's dodgy rumors about Russell?

Thanks for the link to the pics.  I think that's Alan in the back seat in the dune buggy picture.  Looks none the worse for wear.

Does anyone here know if there's ANY accuracy to the wretched summary that IMDB posted? Because if there is, then we can hold a funeral service for the long-suffering concept of historical accuracy.  :-S Robin Hood lived during RICHARD THE LIONHEART's time, NOT the time of WILLIAM THE CONQUEROR! About five generations separate the two kings.  :-S

Since when has Hollywood EVER been acurate about history ? Artistic license is their only history.

Exactly - and if this summary is true, then we can at long last hold a funeral for historical accuracy.  I feel the same way about this possibility that I did about the RUINING of *Beowulf* in the films of 2005 and 2007 - "If that's the story that people want to tell, then they should write their own! Don't go messing with those stories that are among the oldest in the English language and culture, and that work perfectly well on their own merits, thankyouverymuch!"

I am, however, thrilled at the possiblity of Queen Eleanor making an appearance - assuming of course that they can find a replacement for Vanessa Redgrave (for whom my heart aches).  Eleanor lived to be 81, but I'm not sure if she was actually still alive while her sons held the throne.  Anyone know?

Poor shagger, Steve Smith is such a dweeb!  If we're really lucky, Scott will also get to sing in the movie.  His "exceptional singing ability" is what got him his first break in showbiz.  His solo album, released in 1989, was produced by Richard Carpenter (of The Carpenters).

About that "wretched summary", where is it on IMDB?  The only summary I can find is for the plot: "The story of an archer in the army of Richard Coeur de Lion who fights against the Norman invaders and becomes the legendary hero known as Robin Hood."

Yep, no doubting that the gorgeous bearded dude in those pictures is Alan. Even the shot that was taken from further back...its easy to pick out Alan in a crowd. So many of us have seen him perform a lot and we know what he looks like, with or without a beard.

Those rumours were frakin' hilarious. Russell and Ridley fighting...yeesh. Whoever starts these rumours needs a life. Those two have made many great movies together. It's almost as stupid as saying that Alan and Russ don't get along. After all Russell did say he has the same synergy in music with Alan as he does in movies with Ridley.

Can't wait for the movie. I'll be there to see it the day it opens!

I feel the same way; I love the photos, but hate the gossip and rumours. I'm with you GuitarGoddess, it does seem a bit disrespectful.
