Great Big Sea graced the stage AND closed the show at the 2009 Juno Awards in Vancouver on Sunday. With the talented help of Hawksley Workman and Eccodek, the boys did a rocking rendition of "Gallow's Pole". You can watch video of the performance online. The download doesn't seem to be available for anyone outside Canada.  Any chance this can be remedied -- perhaps a download through this site or other iTunes sites? I like the idea of the money going to charity.  I even tried setting up an alternate iTunes account, but it wouldn't let the transaction go through.

 

 

I will ask about the possibility of adding it to other iTunes Stores. I'm going to assume now that it is a licensing issue, but I'll find out for sure and let you know.

Thanks for pointing it out, Nova - I'm going to update the posts to make it clear that it's only available in Canada at the moment.

*le sigh* Yet another fantastic treat we US fans can't get.     I hope this can be fixed but if not, I may just make a run for the horthern border!  *lol*  j/k.

Suggestion?  Start finding some treats for US fans too?  Please, please, pretty please?  I promise we'll devour them up every bit as much as Canadian fans do.

Is my begging to obvious? Cuz I'm green with envy about all the perks Canadian fans seem to get.

January 20th, 2009...the end of an error

Great Big Sea were totally awesome at the Junos last Sunday. When I saw they were playing, I had to buy a ticket and go see them live. I've seen many a Great Big Sea concert and they really stepped out of their box at the Junos, and sounded FABULOUS

I have been trying to move to Halifax for years 

Yay! This is finally available in the US iTunes store (and I even got an email from iTunes telling me).. but I don't see anything about the proceeds. Will the proceeds from US sales still benefit Musicounts?
