There is no need for hate against any group of people.

I don't think the top 49 were ranked.  The final list came from four sub-lists of different genres- folk,pop,rock; classical; jazz; francophone would be my guess at the headings.  Anyway, Ordinary Day is on the list (given alphabetically on the website).  I heard a spokesperson on the CBC saying that as a crown coporation they aren't allowed to give a gift to a foreign leader, and whether Obama ever gets the list is ultimately up to the secret service, but here's hoping he eventually gets it.

GBS is essential Canadiana as far as I am concerned.  They are the best this country has to offer 9 years into a new century.  Years ago it may have been Gordon Lightfoot or Anne Murray but these days it is most assuredly Great Big Sea.
