When you name your Horse Charlie and pray he never falls through ice

When getting a tattoo of a pirate ship, you relate to the artist which GBS songs mention boats and pirates followed by a rant of when they're next concert is, how long you've been listening to them and keep going on and on and on and on

    >.<

    Bryck123:
of the top 25 most played songs on your ipod 23 are GBS songs... the other 2 are acts you have een open for GBS

Mine looks like that too, except the extras are from BNL's snacktime - the ipod mostly gets used in the car with the kids.

When your kids think that 30 people in the kitchen is reasonable and want to know why we haven't done that...and you start trying to figure out how you could...anyone want to come for dinner?  I don't have 30 'real world' friends...

When you spend your lunch break at school on greatbigsea.com, or posting pictures from the Toronto show (FINALLY!)

    or

When you want to get a tattoo that has something to do with the band, but you don't want the band name, so you decide upon both the flying cards with wings from FF, and the mermaid from THTE.

    Fran:

You know you're a GBS fan when you start brainwashing your kids early. The 1st one only started at 3 & 1/2, the second one is only 6 months old, has already been to 3 concerts, and had the nickname of "Headphone Baby" bestowed upon him by Alan from the stage.

    That is too cute!!!

Embarrassed [:$] Re: You Know your a Great Big Sea Fan WHEN......

You know exactly how far it is from Boston to St. John's.

Something around 1,504 miles driving, or 2,421 km. So says Google maps.I have this number memorized and I'm still trying to find out how many leagues it is. Any one know?

...and checked out the geography of Newfoundland on Google Earth just cause your bored and curious.

...and are annoyed that Google Earth won't zoom in far enough to see the Great Big Studio clearly.

...and are overjoyed when a neighbour you've had for three years is a GBS fan and play her all of the by's best from the last three albums that she hasn't heard since her friend made her a GBS mix tape of '90's stuff.

...you realize that you're spelling "neighbour" incorrectly according to your spellcheck but you know that Americans have just bastardized the English language and so ignore it because you're spelling it the Canadian and English way.

You wonder why the tour is booked the way it is when the band will have to shlep back and forth across WA state and hope they'll have the energy to rock all three shows you're going to after shlepping all day.

... its 5:30 and you can't sleep because a friend is staying over and is asleep and you dont want to disturb him but you MUST listen to Boston and St.John's before you go to bed.

    Ok good night.

I'll be getting that tattoo soon, hopefully before the concert! I already have my pirate ship but I want the Mermaid and her sister on my shoulder :D

Y'know, if ever you guys want to come up, I'd love to meet you.  That goes for the rest of you, too. I'll host a 30 okpeeps party - where there's always room for more! (she said, laughing only because she doesn't want to be disappointed when nobody shows).

Carol - It's only about 15 minutes from my house to Niagara, so we could actually do something like get together for lunch somewhere - or you could come here and I'd take you and the kids to the zoo. :) ( I have a membership.)

Re: You Know your a Great Big Sea Fan WHEN......

You have read through ALL the pages of both Alan and Sean's threads and are starting to wonder how long Bob's thread will take...

You convince a friend to put four GBS tunes on her wedding playlist...and she's never heard of the b'ys!

You have watched enough recent videos and pics that you have begun to convince yourself that Alan's beard is kinda sexy... what am I thinking!

I need to go back to school ... I have no life...

    Peace, Love, and GBS
