The pic I posted from prom in the george street cafe was taken in 1985. The 80's were SO much fun!

Thanks Sharn, I knew YOU'D get it! Smile

Robin...when I read that you got married in 1985, I had to go check your age, ya know, cuz I'm thinking you were a child bride or something...I was surprised! You are a young looking 48 year old, my friend!

The bra  thing must only work on teenagers. There's nothing that Kaesye loves more than bra shopping with me. She's rather embarrassing actually.

Gee thanks for the compliment - must just be the Avatar.  My hay days were in the 70's.  My senior prom was in 1978.  I went with Tom!  We double dated with his best friend and his date wore the same exact dress as me!  OMG!  It wasn't planned at all.  It was a great night (from what I can remember)winked

Maybe it's that bright glowing smile because you're standing with Alan!

Okay, I'm upping the ante today since it's 2 pm and Adrian hasn't done the rest of his homework (or had the shower I've been telling him to have since FRIDAY!!). Today I think I will tell him that if he doesn't get the homework done, I'm sending him to the drug store to buy tampons! Angel

    Re: Children with disabilities

But for a teenage boy, I'd imagine it would be mortifying! My husband gets that stuff for me too. My sister's ex husband used to pick up tampons but wouldn't get make up for her. His logic? It's obvious the tampons are not for him, but the make up? Angel

    Re: Children with disabilities

I've never made him, but I imagine my husband would manage to purchase tampons if needed, but he treats underwear the way yours treats make-up. 2 Christmases in a row, I told him if he didn't put a pair of underwear in my stocking, he was in major trouble. Strange request, I know, but he needed to be broken of this fear. His reasoning was the exact same. He was concerned the clerks would presume it was for him. I wasn't even asking for naughty lingerie, a pair of granny gitch would have sufficed.

Men are such babies! Jim hasn't bought his own undies in years! Or socks for that matter. He'll just announce that he needs either and I get them! But I bet he couldn't imagine buying mine for me!

I keep meaning to say to Robin...my husband is the same age as you (his bday's in Aug). People don't think 5 years between us makes a big difference, but his haydays were like you, in the 70's and mine were in the 80's. He was talking the other day about Mott The Hoople (and were it not for him, I would not know who they are!) and was saying something about remembering when a song came out and I said, "Um, NO, Jim, I  don't remember...how old were you?" and he says, "16 or 17" and I said, "Yeah, I was 11 or 12...I was listening to The Bay City Rollers and Leif Garrett, not Mott The Hoople!" Trace No excuse being from a decade before. I was a '70's girl too but I could give you some Hermans Hermits or Beach Boys or the Everly bros, and Elvis and Oh my Beatles! right along with your Grand Funk Railroad, Guess Who, April Wine, Stampeders Rush and That darling Karen Carpenter God rest her soul! I could also Jackson 5 ya and Donny Osmond Oh and don't forget the Partridge Family!  it's all in your influences, I was the youngest of 6 and always had a teenager in the house from birth, so I guess I was a rockin in my crib before it actually was a saying!

All is quite quiet on the Northern front I don't know if they are repenting or building up a new head of steam to let off!  Camping plans for the May 24 went out with the rain and ?snow? and DH's golden birthday!

DH has no issues buying anything I ask him to I am more reluctant to ask as I would have to return it for size, colour or inapropriate style. last time I sent him for feminine hygene products he came back with several kinds as he didn't know what to buy I was stocked up for months in all sizes and styles!

    Re: Children with disabilities

Oh geez, Lyndz, GOOD LUCK!  I think Alex would probably prefer to be knocked out, but I know that anesthesia is a scary thing for a parent. Let us know how he does.

Now THAT would be systems medicine - child gets anesthesia, parent gets a tranq (or at least a pint!)

You have some great ideas, Col! A pub right in the hospital...I could have used that a few times now!
