Gainey concert set for Montreal
The Gainey family and the Gainey Foundation have announced a concert in Montreal for next month modelled after the Peterborough concert in March.
"After the huge success of the first Gainey Foundation fundraising event held in Bob Gainey's hometown," a press release states, the family will hold one at the Metropolis in Montreal on June 24.
The Peterborough concert raised $125,000 for the foundation set up by the Gainey family in memory of Bob's daughter Laura and her mother, Cathy, to help young people in environmental and arts education.
The Montreal concert will feature Canada's Great Big Sea along with the Sam Roberts Band as co-headliners. Joining them will be Quebec singer-songwriter Michel Rivard along with plenty of Montreal talent. The host will be Marc Denis.
Tickets are $100 and go on sale in Montreal on Friday.
