Can't access the videos anymore. Anybody else have the same problems?

    Cheers

...and Bob bless Frosty for posting this delightfully delicious picture, and for generally being understanding and, yes, a little enabling, toward our obsession with the band.

It deserves a place on this page too.  And the next page.  And the one after that.  And probably on every page of this thread forum board website.  And on my MeSpace page.  And in my e-mail.  And my cell phone.  And my bedroom wall - ooooh!  I hope they ave this one available to purchase at the live shows!  That would tickle me all shades of pink.

I love Seannie's tie.  Oooooh....Ever since Isaac Hanson took up wearing ties all the time a few years back, whenever I see one it does funny things to me...

MORE TIES!!  MORE TIES!!  (they should all wear them)

(Actually, if you look close at Seannie that tie makes him look sorta emo-ish.  That scares me somewhat, and thankfully helped lower the temperature here.)

Re: behind the scenes WOTM video footage

If anyone is interested in seeing the WOTM set there is a chance coming up at the end of this month. Spadina House should already be open for the season, but the third floor is only open to the public once a year during doors open Toronto (also happens to be free that weekend). This year the dates are May 24 & 25. I've included the link to Spadina's Doors Open page.

    http://www.toronto.ca/culture/spadina.htm

The image on this page shows the exterior from the south lawn. From what I can see, some of the video was shot in the salon and some in the 3rd floor bedroom (window on the right... the one on the left is a costume shop for City of Toronto Culture division). The 3rd floor was never finished and some of the walls were left bare - now they're dark from years of exposure to Toronto smog. The group photo was taken in the 3rd floor corridor and the door they are standing in front of separates family space from the servants quarters and stairway.

Forgive me if I'm geeked out, but I love this house and really would like encourage everyone (who gets the chance) to see it. Throughout the year its really quiet... people don't know its there - which is really sad because low attendance hurts budgets.

Spadina house is located right next to Casa Loma and is walking distance from the Dupont Subway Station.

Spadina also has a plant sale on the Saturday... really great perennials, ridiculous prices. People are usually there at the crack of dawn & if you aren't there right away then you miss the gems. Sorta like rushing the doors at a GA show. *g*

Here is a shot of the front of the house. The little window on the top right is part of the costume shop. For the better part of a year that was where I spent my days... stitching for the city... good times. The dress shown below was made by my boss. The door that is visible over the model's shoulder may be the one that the boys are posed in front of in the photo that Frosty posted. I don't remember much about the front door because the museum entrance goes into the basement & employees use the servants stairs to minimize wear and tear on the floors / carpets. Can't think of where else in the building it might be.

Thanks for posting the Spadina House info, Horita.  I have a deep appreciation for local history and architecture.  It's great to see others with similiar interests sharing their appreciation with the masses

I love the behind the scenes clips.  Several years ago I saw the Spadina House and tried to get in, but it was closed for a private function.

Has anyone else noticed in the webisode entitled "Great Big Sea Eps 2, Part 1"  that Sean said that his house was broken into?  That his wedding ring, watch and cash were stolen?  Scary!  I hope for his families sake he did get a security system.

Yes, thanks Tina.Quite amusing. Sean reminds me of my brother and now something seems wrong with me being a Shantyfan!Angel One suggestion tho...maybe you can edit your first post with a little 'warning' about the use of the word that rhymes with duck that is used quite frequently...if kids are present, maybe use headphones or wait till they're not around. I wish I'd known before I listened at full volume with Chelsea 4 feet away on the couch. All is well, she's not scarred for life or anything, I just wish I'd known before Alan started yelling, "*uck, *uck, *uck"! Smile

Im pretty sure sean said HE had to break into his house, something about climbing to the second story, something about spiderman, stealing his wedding ring, and something about feeling violated. It was a joke, and im supposed to be working on 2 essays on the french revolution for tomorrow but this is the first chance i have had to watch them in peace, lol

Re: behind the scenes WOTM video footage

nope... he was broken into... it pops up a few times in the video. The bit about the electric fence & fried butterflies was part of the same discussion. Really don't think he was joking. If you go through recent show pics (and the new publicity stills) he isn't wearing a ring.

Re: behind the scenes WOTM video footage

    FINALLY!

Almost a week after everyone else, I finally got a few of these videos downloaded!

I have cursedly slow dial-up, so  took my laptop to work yesterday and today and I was able to get a few videos on my break each day.

    So no one has mentioned yet, another now song, Dream to Live that is on  #4, 1 and 2. I got about 2/3 of the song transcribed - but they did make it fairly easy, showing the lyric sheet more than once, and reworking their way through the song - was able to catch a lot;

    DREAM TO LIVE

Set off for America far across the ragin' sea

From the frozen coves of my island home

    To the land of liberty.

I have to leave my girl behind

    Until i make my way

Oh Molly dear, please wait for me

I'll come back for you someday.

Landed hard in Boston and I never seen the like

A small-boat boy from around the bay

In a sea of shining light

Two days and I got a job building towers ((of our)?) steel

Had to learn to not look down

And I quickly learned to kneel

And I wonder if this will end

And I wonder if I'll ever see your face again

All I need is one good night's sleep

In your loving arms to mend

    Sleep to Dream

    And we Dream to Live

Will I live to love you again?

There's another verse that I can't get - Oh well, a few surprises are a good thing!

I noticed that there seemed to be more, but I figured it was me not noticing how many there had been before!  In any event, the fact that there is more to see tickles me *heeheehee*

Just rewatching webisodes & noticed funny part in episode 3 part two where it looks like Alan has a tail... silly, but cute

Towards the end of episode... Alan is sitting at 'puter eating and a beagle is behind him and beagle bum is not quite visible behind his chair.

The funniest part for me was when Sean put the vice-grips on his jeans ( in a very sensitive area ) and said something to the effect " this is what you call Newfoundland birth control" , I thought that was just too funny !
