    Re: Another Hello from Northern Germany

    A friend of mine is in the organisation team of a cool intimate venue just around my house (LCB in Wuppertal - for those who now it): it shouldn't be a problem to find an available date in the schedule - and I cordially offer my hospitality! So guys - why not hop on the plane fairly soon to play for us ... MusicBeer ...??? I promise I sing along as loud as I can!

    winked Cheers ... Christina

    Oh yeah that'd be awesome. The LCB is a wonderful venue. And I can offer another venue here in Dortmund! The Musiktheater Piano - small, intimate and a great atmosphere!

     *keeps on dreaming & wishing* *gg*

    Re: Another Hello from Northern Germany

    many thanks to you all for your warm welcome, almost feel like "beeing home" winked

    are you really planning a "german thread"? sounds good, i think it would be much easier to write in *lol*, my dictionary has to do a hard job from time to time...

    @Sona

    thank you, the same to you big smiles

    @Kati

    I hope you get well soon, a sore throat is bad, especially when it's going to be summer (had 20°C today and a bright shining sun)

    @Corina

    ahem, you were here on a wednesday? *lol*... that was the only snow i can remember in 2006...

    @Helenwheels

    I LOVE your story big smiles  though my nick has nothing to do with a cat... I already loved these little blue smurfs when I was a child, first we had the films on tv and later you could get them as figures (I collected a lot of them wherever I saw them winked

    @ all

    what can we do to make this band come over here??? hmm, tonder could be one possibility but some other venues come also in my mind *lol*

    Cheers,
    Nicole

    Re: Another Hello from Northern Germany

    Well yeah we're plannign that German thread but since this is a forum where the majority speaks English it wouldn't be fair to write German in that thread...

    No I was in Luebeck on March 10th, 2006. There war this huge snow storm and no road got cleared because the workers were on strike...

    Well Tonder is a good thing to get the lads ocer here but tehy seem to play it only every 2-3 years and since they were there in 2007 it'll be a year or 2 until they come back.

    Cheers

    THe more people who join the mailing list, post on the OKP and buy CD's in Germany, I think will better the odds of seeing the guys come back over there.  ....maybe....  But it does let them know you are "out there".  Maybe one of you should become a Street Team Leader and help to spread the word, by putting up posters, asking everyone you know to call radio stations, etc.  Spread the Word!  Every little bit helps!

    Re: Another Hello from Northern Germany

    Yes, Helen, I hope the litte ".de" as email address extention does it's work!

    I once contacted the street team and got the answer back, that they don't know how I could help. Hm. Well at least I wear my GBS T-shirts at any concert that I go to. And do really get comments! Especially from the Runrig and Bruce Guthro Fans (which are quite a lot here) - probably as well from the Oysterband fans, but I haven't seen them on stage for a while. And I give GBS CD's to my friends ... with growing success! Just recently I convinced a colleage of mine completely! Yippee!

    Anyways - I won't give up hope. They made it to England and Denmark (which is fine for me already!) at least! I waited for Bruce to come to play solo in Germany for 6 years - and last month he played kind of around my house!!

    Spread the word! Exactly!

    Cheers ... Christina

    Re: Another Hello from Northern Germany

    @helen: Yeah  contacted the street team as well and they told that me that at this point there was no need for a street team in Germany. :( Am doing the same things as bouzouki though. And we're not giving up hope. I do think it'll be the perfect time for the b'ys over here though because at the moment Celtic music has a huge fanbase here in Germany. There'd be tons of opportunities to play all over the country.

    Cheers

    It has been quite some years now that I haven't seen the Ostsee (have a friend in Ostfriesland so I decided to go that direction in the last two years: Greetsiel, as well very nice!) ... so it's high time for a trip up north! That'll be fun! Be sure that I contact you as soon as I have a decent plan! Need to go to the Niederegger Café for a Pharisaer again!

    Enjoy the long weekend with this gorgeous weather forecast!
