Has 'Something Beautiful' happened to you today?

Anyhow, I've got Something Beautiful to share with everybody today.

I get home from a rough day at work and am pleasantly surprised to find a package sent to me from Newfoundland. Now, I knew that my friend Carol was sending me something when she was visiting and she said that it was coming from O'Brien's. Well, I wasn't expecting what I got - a gorgeous tipper not only designed by, but also SIGNED by Séan. I'm still giddy and my son is convinced that I've gone right around the bend....he's right....

So, a HUGE hug goes out to Carol for the beautiful gift! And a special thanks to Séan for signing it!

Re: Has 'Something Beautiful' happened to you today?

Didn't start off as a good day - slept in, woke up from a bad dream, forgot to set up the coffee pot the night before, rushing to get ready and forgot to put gel in my hair before blowdrying causing major frizz, late for work, snapped at a co-worker when he asked a stupid question and he should've known the answer.

Then the beautiful happened - the sun came out, I received a card from a friend (including a picture that her child drew for me), met a friend for dinner and made plans to go to a concert.

Re: Has 'Something Beautiful' happened to you today?

    Today, not so much.
    But Sunday!!!!!!
Spent the whole afternoon with my goddaughter, aka the absolute love of my life, reason for being, apple of my eye, etc.
She's SO cute, I can't even take it. Got to see all the other little cousin as well which was fun, but my goddaughter is just adorable, and too funny and cute. Unfortunately she has her godfather wrapped around her little finger so it ended up involving her climbing all over me all day, dragging me all over the house to play with her toys, and getting covered in dirt (the kid plays with an absurd amount of dirt). It was worth it though b/c every time I was starting to slow down a little b/c she was climbing all over me and everything else in sight, she'd stop what she was doing, come over, climb up my back and give me a big kiss on the cheek. So cute, the little one is.

I haven't had a chance to check out everybody's postings yet but I just had to share this. I was starting to feel overwhelmed at work - busy, busy. Then, somebody stopped in just to give me a piece of homemade cake Smile. I'll have to think of ways to "pass it on..."

    I know, I know!!!!!
I was thinking about that the other day. The description is pretty accurate, too. And I am pretty much her plaything when I'm around to the point of the absurd. Everytime I hear that song I laugh, thinking of how silly I end up acting at her demand, and how absurdly cute she is. I'm actually giggling right now, b/c she tried to rope me into a Mcdonald's run Sunday afternoon; she always tries that. This time it was "french fries are too good to be bad for me". She actually said that.

I AM so glad she is so cute, it is great that you love her as all of us can plainly see.

Can you imagine if you had a god child that you really didn't like.

My neice almost got my name when she was born and she has turned out to be one of the worst people I care to know. I am so glad my sister named her something else.

What a great thread!! Kudo's to Bonnie! Don't know if this qualifies as "beautiful" but I sure thought it was cool. As I have mentioned, I work in Walmart, merchandising the magazines. Was doing that today in Woodstock, and saw that they had marked down some Polic eand Firefighter dress up playsets. I have a crillion neices and nephews, and this christmas is going to be particularly tight, (ref. the "Great Big Lament")and yea we should draw names, but we did that last year but my sisters (who make good money) didn't like it. Sigh.
ANYWAY-they were half price, which was great, but I didn't have my bank card on me. I had to leave work to pick up the kiddies and take them to the sitters, so I grabbed my bank card on my way back. When I got back to Walmart they had marked them down further to $3! Got the 4 nephews under 5 covered for $12!

Re: Has 'Something Beautiful' happened to you today?

Well my something beautiful is from yesterday. While at work, the second in command came to our plant for a visit. Because I'm the only female press operator he came by to say hello. He spotted a piece of paper on my bench that said "Guinness bodhran" (I was going to look something up later) and he asked what that was all about.

When he learned I'm into celtic music he just wouldn't stop talking about it. He's originally from Ireland so he had quite a bit to say on the subject.

Anyhoo, I just thought it was beautiful how I managed to suck up to the big guy without actually sucking up, if ya know what I mean!

Teej, you are absurdly gushy! LOL!!!

I got a letter today. Telling me to be present, next Friday, at 9am, for an exam that could lead me to an interview and possibly a job as an environmental technician. My present job contract ends in December. This one would be a permanent job. I've been living off contracts for the last 3 years. This would be such a relief. Smile

My Sweetie talked me into spending Christmas with him in Kingston, Ont.
Good Grief, I'm going to freezeSmile ! The lowest temps I've EVER experienced is about -6. This'll be my first White Christmas... if it snows!
