From the directors of the video for Great Big Sea's upcoming single, "Walk on the Moon":

ATTENTION GREAT BIG SEA FANS:

We are looking for family photos/snapshots that show great "achievements" to be considered for use in the upcoming music video for the track "walk on the moon". Please email photos, no larger then 2mb along with contact information ASAP. If selected, all persons in the photograph(s) will have to sign a release form which we will email to you. Please only send your favorites and limit your submission to 5 photos max.

ACHIEVEMENTS could include: sporting events, trophy presentations, baby's first steps, riding without training wheels, fairground events / awards, educational awards, school plays, reaching the tops of mountains, exploring exotic places...etc.

I'll see if I can get a specific deadline, but they really do mean it when they say "ASAP".

That is so cool. Alan told us about the concept Sunday night, but to get the chance to be able to "participate" in some way is beyond words.

Maybe you can listen to the song while searching through your photo albums.

In case anyone is wondering, if someone in the photos you want to submit is deceased, there is no need for a release form, so you are still OK to send them in.

another question along those lines...if photo has me and famous person in it....what do we have to do?

I've edited my initial message from the directors.

If the photo has famous people in it, they probably can't use them.

Now, if it's one of the GBS guys and you, I'm sure that'd be just fine.

I have a somewhat odd question . . . do there have to be PEOPLE in the shot? Or can it just be a photo of a great monument, or an animal doing something?

This may be a silly question, but: Can we assume that only people whose faces are identifiable will be required to give permission?

Since I saw your post I keep researching my brain about all the good memories that I'm lucky enough to have. I can not really think in terms of "achievement" though, but more in terms of a very personal kind of courage, of decisions that turned out to be the right ones, of experience and awareness - which hardly show up in pictures. I'll do my best to find some, that are worth to be shown! But if either I participate here or not, my personal retrospection is already great, 'cause it brings back moments that you normally don't think of in your everyday life. That's exactly, what this song means to me ...

Sounds like an excellent concept for a video - can't wait to see it!

I enjoyed looking thru my daughter's baby book. Found a photo entitled "Baby's first beer" that I had forgotten about. She could barely walk and was stumbling in the door with an empty beer bottle (decided not to submit that one).

My suggestion for GBS is that, Bob Gainey being a fan, I'm sure they could get permission from the Canadiens' archives to use a photo of him hoisting the Stanley Cup.
