Well so yeah here I am again.... Corina from Dortmund, Germany. Some of you might still remember me (at least I hope so ;)). Was quite active here about 3 years ago (oh my, has it really been that long?). Kinda got into some other music for a while but as I always suspected one just can't get enough of GBS. S till haven't managed to see them live in concert even though they were in Tonder last year (I wasn't though...) Really hope to meet some old and many new friends here!! :D ~ Corina

Hi Corina! Great to see a German face here again! Actually I
don't rember you although I'm reading the posts on the OKP for much
longer than I'm officially signed in. Hope to meet you from now on on a
regular basis here! I live in Wuppertal which is quite in your
neighborhood, isn't it? Kati and I met in the OKP and actually got
friends. Wouldn't it be cool to go out for a beer together, we three?
Hm Kati, what do you think? I'm curious how you discovered GBS? I
heard about them 2001 when they were opening for Runrig (although I
missed this tour, silly me). I got the chance to see the guys on stage
once - last summer in London - and it was a blast. All expectations
more than satisfied! I'm desperately waiting for the next occasion! Hope to hear from you soon ... Christina

Yeah getting together for a beer or two sounds awesome. Maybe in connection with a Folk concert here in Dortmund or Wuppertal or Cologne. I'm definitely up for it. I discovered GBS through a friend back in 2004, shortly after she discovered them because of Runrig. Really hope that the b'ys make it over here again in the near future! Cheers!

Corina - sounds great. It's so nice to have people around you that
share a similar taste of music. I'm curious to learn what your
favourite bands are ... I'm seeing The Paperboys in Meschede
tomorrow and Caurus & The True Believers on Pfingstmontag here in
Wuppertal. Ooops - that would be spontanious if you'd come along! Just
PM me if you have any sort of interest here! Cheers ... Christina

@Christina: You know what I'm really interested in that Paperboys concert. Just depends on the time it starts really (because I gotta work at 6 on Monday) and how I'm going to get to Meschede.. @Kati: Oh you guys jam together? That's so awesome. I wish I had the time to practise since I've got a guitar, a bodhrán, a fiddle, etc. lying around here but because of work most of the times I'm just too tired.... Btw, Oysterband would be an awesome concert. Have seen them live in Essen, in Tonder and at the Folk im Schlosshof 2007. I think it'll be a while though before they come back here...

Oh, I don't have very much time to practise my bodhran-playing too ! I'm working, I'm a mother and we bought a house last year ... there's not much time left to do anything. I'm often too tired in the evenings ! But Christina's guitar playing is awesome - and the last time we met, we tried the very first time some stuff with the bodhran - it wasn't perfect, not at all, but we liked it ! The next time we'll meet on Wednesday eve, Christina likes to teach my son some chords and GBS tunes. But it's true, we met the first time here in the OKP and discovered that we live just 20 minutes away ... sooo funny. It has been a very exciting thing to meet the first time in real life .. since then we are real friends. Am I right, Christina ???? Back to the Oysterband. I've seen them live in Essen, too, several times - as well as in Dortmund and Cologne 1998. The concert in Cologne they had been supported by "GREAT BIG SEA " !!! That was the first and the last time I saw them live ... and let me be honest, I can't hardly remember them ! Christina, enjoy the Paperboys ...((sigh)) ... Cheers Kati - who discovered all the mysteries of the new backyard today

Thanks Lady, but my guitar playing is for sure not awesome ... LoL
... but of course, I feel that I came quite far regarding the fact,
that I only play for a year and a month ... I tell you something that
should have been a surprise actually for Wednesday: I practised Walk On
The Moon (thanks to Steph who provided the chords) - and did well! So be prepared for that! Corina!
Your'e a musician? Wow, great ... I guess Kati and I could learn lot
from you! I know what you mean with beeing tired after a hard working
day ... but for me, I must say, shuffeling some chords is super
relaxing. So this is the first thing when I come home ... no matter
what time. Even if it's just 30 min of picking practise or a few easy
songs. But first things first! Before we plan our Kitchen Party
let's speak about the concert tomorrow. They start at eight I guess. I
reserved my ticket and I can pick it up at seven. Since there were
still a lot of tickets available on Monday I believe it's not sold out.
It's in the Stadthalle - maybe you give them a call to make sure? Your
question about how to get there lets me think, that you can't come by
car? I could pick you up ... like for instance at Schwerte HBF? But
even if give you a lift back home I don't think you'll be at home
before midnight. PM me on this topic - so we can communicate in German? I'll check my mails quite often ... Cheers ... Christina Kati - are you sure you can't come?

bouzouki:Kati ... WHAT mysteries???
I'll send you some pics of these backyard mysteries ! I really looking forward to Wednesday, don't forget "Walk on the Moon" (I don't know the lyrics yet) - and enjoy the Paperboys. I'm so sorry that I couldn't come with you ! @ Corina: you're a nurse ? At a hospital in Dortmund ? I'm in Dortmund on Thursday, Dortmund-Brechten, but I've got a date with friends there ! But I'm sure we'll meet someday - you can trust us, we're a funny bunch of girls. See ya Kati

Corina ... that I call spontanious! Thanks for your company at the
concert tonight. Kati, really too bad you couldn't come ... Paperboys'
performance was wonderful - the venue was a bit strange though. Right,
Corina - giggle ??? At least we have a funny story to tell now! Hope to see you soon ... Cheers, Christina Kati - now I'm really curious about the garden mysteries ... :-)
