    Caithream Celtic Dance Fusion

    Hello all!

Caithream Celtic Dance Fusion is a small, Ottawa-based dance company which mixes traditional Highland dance with modern, ballet, ballroom, and other dance types.  Their inspiration is drawn from a wide number of things, from Austin Powers to the hardships experienced by the hard working ancestors of Canada's proud citizens.

They are also HUGE Great Big Sea fans. ;)  In fact, their set entitled Angels and Fools is largely inspired by some Great Big Sea tunes (they DO pay their Socan fees, so the Boys are not being ripped off, I promise!)

They preform in Ottawa twice a year, and perform at various competitions across Canada.

They would just LOVE it if the Boys could one day come to their show.  Seriously.  What they do with Buying Time brings me to tears everytime.

If you'd like more information, please visit their website at www.caithream.com.

(I'm biased because I have three cousins who are part of the company - one of them is co-director/chreographer, and the two others are dancer.)

They do sound awesome. I might come see next time I'm in Ottawa. I have a question. How the heck do you mix highland dancing with ballet?
