It can be easier to figure out what Sean is doing when Great Big Sea is touring, but haven’t you wondered what else he does with his time? Well, now’s your chance to “follow” Sean and find out!

Sean has recently joined Twitter as GreatBigSean, and with almost 40 tweets to date, he’s been actively posting what he’s been up to or things he wants to share with his “followers”. With a new album and new tour dates on their way, think of all the updates that are in store!

 

So, what’s Twitter? It’s a free service that allows members to post short updates that aim to answer the question: What are you doing? You can search for friends, family and people of interest, view their profile and choose to “follow” them; next time you login to Twitter, you’ll see their updates on your homepage. It gets even more addictive! You can update your Twitter via SMS text messaging, instant messaging and a number of software programs that you can download. This provides many ways for Sean to update his Twitter while on the road!

 

There's a pretty neat video on the top right corner of the Twitter homepage that might answer a few of your questions. Otherwise, if you have any questions, post in this thread, and I’ll try my best to answer them. I’ll update this post with the answers, too.

Binny, I completely understand where you're coming from - I'm still grasping the concept of Twitter myself. Think of it this way, I wouldn't have posted about Sean's Twitter if Sean didn't want his fans to know about it.

My voyeuristic appetite is now satiated.  ...or maybe it's just all those references to fish and chips.

Aww Sean!!! Love the (as of now) newest blurb... about coloring Thomas the Tank Engine, lol. My daughter is sitting on the floor playing with her new toy. I love that Sean is a father (are all the boys?!... not that this needs to be answered!!) as I am a new mom and am in love with the joy it brings. It's amazing! And I just adore Sean, tee hehehe! Anywho! :)

I remember some time back, having a discussion about what we considered calling "Sean's Scribbles" or something like that.  We've got Bob's Soundtrack Journal and Alan's FTRs, and the ShantyFans wanted a special page of the like for Sean.  Good to see it's finally seen fruition!

You can't comment on his specific post (like you would a news post on GreatBigSea.com), but you can reply to something he posted by sending your own Tweet.

When logged in, go to your homepage; you'll see an entry box at the top underneath the question "What are you doing?" Underneath this, you'll see a list of the recent updates from the people you are following. At the end of an update, you'll see a star icon and a grey return arrow. If you click the star icon, you've marked that update as a favourite. If you click the grey arrow, you're replying to that update. Scroll back to the top entry field for "What are you doing?" and it should say "@greatbigsean". Write a short Tweet in response to what Sean posted, and it will show that it is in reply to a specific post of his.

I remember starting that topic Sqeezy [ETA okay Nova just confrimed that we are guilty of said action]...I think it was about a year and a half ago. And the quick updates on twitter certain qualify as scribbles. I think it's cool.

Daisy-Girl - I can't really for the life of me figure out how it works unless it's as simple as it seems. I have the feeling that if I post anything I'm talking to myslef but I really have no idea. After you sign up click on "home" and that should take you to yoru comment box thingy. But, like I said you may be talking to yourself for all I know.
